If you refer to my ideal spec as noted in the list above you will find it is exactly as close to 991R as possible ie GT silver, buckets, manual,PCCBs and Clubsport delete which will be the lightest(therefore fastest),purest and will probably be what i go for when it comes to the crunch...
Same here

It does seem strange why no manual from the start although looking from above pdk seems to be the most popular choice!
Just a thought while having my crunchy nut cornflakes this morning,if there is going to be some kind of "touring model" we could assume it would be manual only and therefore will be built alongside the manual GT3 hence the delay in production!
That's what I am hoping for...

I think I read 'with' rear seats so that would limit the choice of seats to chairs or folding buckets unless you could delete the rears and have fixed buckets.
They really would be p*ssing all over the 911R customers then though so I really don't see that happening. Plus some GT3's have been made with a manual, the German and Dutch reviews on YT feature the manual transmission. Just seems like the UK has missed out on one so far for the magazines.

The GT3 is a track car for Porsche hence why they're releasing it with a PDK first and foremost. The run of manuals is to please the purists, like me.

you both have NOT speced the lightweight R seats though, so not really R spec.

Yes I would really like a manual touring over a manual gt3, I think the gt3 was designed with pdk only in mind and manual was an after thought!
May be IF the touring is launched then I suspect even fewer gt3 being specd manual!

Unfortunately some R's left the factory sans lightweight buckets.....which I find incredible! Granted that is what they were supposed to have.

I think there's a chance R spec is as sort after as Clubsport in the long run. Not that I care though because if/when I do get a car I don't see me selling it.

And if you look at his Twitter feed he's clearly been at a press day today with Walter Rohl and a manual 991.2

I have and also agree with you on the wheels..My current spec is black wheels however after seeing this video i'm leaning towards silver which really show off the stunning wheel design whereas the black rims masks them.Another big plus point is they're free although Pccbs will be needed to keep them clean.

I was one of the few to have silver wheels on my white 991 GT3 and i really don't like dark/black wheels. However I'm in a bit of a muddle as not really sure silver wheels go with Crayon as its more of a moody look. You lose so much detail with black wheels scratchchin

In terms of R spec being as sought after as club sport I can't see it. Basically the New GT3 is a better all round car than a 911R with a, wait for it... 'motorsport' engine. The only thing making the 911R special is the badge on the back and the limited production numbers, that's about it!
