I also do not think its beige. Looks a little darker to me. My mate's green 996.2 has tan and that red one could bevtge same.

I'm curious why a 996.1 has a colour coded wheel - i didn't know that was an option back then?
As I've said above, not beige but "Natural" leather - a £3600 option. Ruffled leather was another £370! What do you mean by a colour coded wheel? All UK 996s had steering wheels that same colour as the rest of the interior as standard.
Yes which is why i said i ALSO do not think its beige.

I thought early cars had a black wheel like early Boxsters. Hence the question mark.

No way you could change that interior to all black for less than 1k$/gbp!
Even if you did all the work yourself.
You'd have to change all the headliners, sunvisors, A,B,C pillars, door cards carpets, dash, steering wheel, etc.
Even redying certain parts would involve material costs north of a grand without work.
Yeah I agree on that but I was only thinking changing a few bits to break it up. I think just those bits I mentioned is doable.
You could get a full set of comfort seats in black I reckon for £500. Centre console £150. Then retrim on steering wheel, gear stick and handbrake £350. Even if it's a bit more, you'd get a couple hundred back from selling the old seats

I thought you can paint or reconolise the leather a different colour. Going to black is easier than the other way.

I bought my fronts from porsche-apart (9-apart now), rears from ebay (rears seem easier to come by for some reason). Although mine is a '99 C2 it was delivered with clears from the factory.

Oh and be aware that 996 and Boxster headlights are different. They will fit but have a different pattern in the clear plastic around the lights I think.

It may be the picture doing it no favours, but the left hand side looks as ripply as a very ripply thing to me.

I rather like that. It's a bit too garish for me with the orange accessories, but if the stickers were removed and the wheels replaced by some BBS LMs it would look pretty cool. At least it isn't a 997 conversion. Bit dear, though I can understand why.

I joined the cable throttle 996 C2 club last night. Mine is rather more under the radar than the one above in terms of looks.

Ha, give me a few hours - I'm having to do that 'work' thing today, which I've been told is an activity and not just a venue.

They weigh more than the moon though, exactly where you don't want that weight.
