So what I'm struggling with, is what exhaust options do I have that are close to stock sound levels?

Everything I seem to find is, well, aimed at being loud, or a double the price switchable system.
Parr fitted a nice set of Cargraphic mufflers on my old 996. They always passed sound at tracks, sounded nice on start up and high revs and didn’t drone at all. They are a step up in weld quality and materials but not tremendously expensive. I’m a bit puzzled that more people don’t use them.

Nice aero kitted 3.4. Not the cheapest though.

I hope he gets it- mine is 40k fewer miles with better spec & I never in my wildest dreams figured over £25k for it.

The designTek rear boxes from Design911 are really good. Well priced, and give a slightly deeper tone to the standard OE ones. Importantly, they don’t drone at all
The Designtek boxes are TopGear boxes. The Mild Sports Sound boxes.

Well they used to be, not sure if they still are, but presume they are.

I agree, slighter deeper sound and no drone.

It seems strange some said they got drone using Top Gear mild sound back boxes.
I have the Top Gear mild exhausts & they're just right. I wanted the loud ones but my sensible side won; I'm glad I chose as I did.

Yellow somehow pretty much doubles what it would be worth in any other colour laugh

The advert is pure cringe… searched for years for my dream spec… best car I’ve ever owned and driven… and now I’m selling it 2 years later rolleyes

Blimey you are a hard audience.... he says he's selling it to buy a house with his wife.

Sounds like a nice bloke.

I didn’t get that far down the advert laugh

Whatever, it’s £15k over priced.

Are those of you that are talking down the price owners or lookers?
I personally hope he gets his price

Owner, 17 years, >150k miles.

£37k for a 100k mile car is miles out of line with market pricing… if it wasn’t yellow it would be sub 20k.

What the...

You could get a decent low mileage 996 Turbo for that.

Looking at the names nearly all owners. As am I, that's ridiculous. 20k+ for a yellow aero imo, of course I hope he gets it but it is nuts.

Ridiculous price. Nice car, but come on. As said before, tidy Turbo territory. Friends Green had a blue turbo manual for £34.5k

I’ve got the opportunity to take the 996 to France in September for the Rugby World Cup, it’s just going to be me and the eldest son, so great opportunity to pop down to the Alps in the week between games.
I’m sure a few years ago I tried to get one of those devices the plug into the cigarette lighter and Bluetooth your phone to a radio frequency but if I remember correctly, it was to small as the 996 cigarette lighter is slightly bigger than normal.
Am I just imagining that or does anyone know? Also any links to a cheap website greatly appreciated.
It’s only for this one trip so not wanting to spend a lot.

Yes, I have one - pick the one you prefer from this lot

Works well for playing music, doesn't work well as a mic for taking calls!

How do you know.....?

Is he buying the house with you?

I hope you'll tell her gently.

What I've found is that the quality isn't very good - I hear the FM hiss that comes and goes. It might be because I'm in London, though.
