Good luck - can't be nice needing a box. I have the leisure of time at least ...
Bought it.

I've seen a lot of early 996 being sold with "specked from exclusive 09991 code" but I have to say mine is one of the plainest 996 you can get & the bonnet sticker has the 09991 code.
did they all have it?

Do you have steering wheel airbag cover in leather?

It seems that if a car was spec'd with any Exclusive items then it will get a 09991 code - most owners would have specified something I would guess (alloy parts, carbon parts, leather covered parts, painted parts). What does your build sticker show? I believe the larger options, like a full custom coloured interior, gained the 09981 option code too as the car would have been taken off the main production line to have these fitted in the Exclusive department.

I wander if they still do this?

Have you seen the videos from the Porsche factory, they're amazing.

Nothing exclusive that I can see unless the leather dash is it.

Something as simple as the gt3 wheels triggers it. That was the case with my old 996.1

Excellent news! Look forward to you getting it fitted - hope it's not too painful on the wallet

Isn't there a brake line that should be easy to do with gearbox out? Hopefully your mechanic will advise...

There is... runs over the top of the 'box and is a pain to do with the 'box in place... worth replacing while it's out.

Mine has the `exclusive` code. The only things that could have triggered it are : - sunroof delete / alcantara headlining / leather dash. It was completely stock otherwise. UK car.

Mine has all 3 of those options + the Sport Classic alloys, unsurprisingly it has the code!

The X codes are, I believe, for EXclusive - so your Sport Design Wheels (XRL), Porsche crest embossed in headrests (XSC) & Stainless Tailpipes (X54).

All this talk of option codes I thought I’d check mine.
Sadly nothing exciting.

Sport Design wheels (£1705), seat heating (£365) and 3 spoke steering wheel (£196) - still around £2.2k in options (back in 2000).

Fast lane, where did you get those costs from, wouldn't mind finding out the costs of all my options.

I have a copy of the 911 MY 2001 (August 2000) price list - I bought it off eBay so I could price my options - £10,996 in total! I have just bought the MY 2001 Exclusive brochure and the 2000 British International Motor Show brochure too - sad, I know...

Here's a copy of the full range version of the March 1998 price list:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Porsche-911-1998-Price-...

Here's the MY 2000 brochure and 911 price list:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Porsche-911-Hardback-Sa...

Interestingly, Porsche UK dropped 911 prices by around £5k in MY 2001.

Looking at your options and based on the MY 2001 prices (standard UK spec included full leather, metallic paint, CR 22 radio cassette, top tinted windscreen, prep for CD changer & rear wiper), here are the costs:

C16
XRL - £1705
XSC - £137
X54 - £495
236 - £0
424 - £0
425 - £0
436 - £196
490 - £0
567 - £0
650 - £1240
689 - £0
895 - Can't find this code anywhere (do you mean 695 which is CD-radio Becker Porsche CDR-22, which was £95?)
936 - £0
981 - £0
983 - £0

Total £3636 (exc. 895/695)
