Its colour sensitive but in general I think the early 986 twin rad only bumper looks the best, yes. And i think it applies to all 9x6 cars with the original headlamps too.

I am still undecided on ambers or not, my car is Zenith blue and i think it could work with either colour.

slightly off topic but what are my options with regards to changing the gearknob in a 996? I have the standard 996 one in mine (which i hate) and would prefer the shorter 'sport' gearknob but they appear to be ruinously expensive? On previous BMW's. Hondas etc its always been doable for sub £100.....any ideas or any breakers for a used one?

Remember this one? It's back up on Ebay again.
It's the one which hit a kerb with enough impact to snap a suspension arm.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/274446025437?ul_noapp=t...

It's Cat N, but I notice this has now been added to the description.
"There is a rotational noise from i think a front wheel but not sure of its a bearing."

I wonder if it's the front wheel which took a battering?
Either way, it looks like a £12K Hartech rebuild was only a year ago, so engine wise, it should be spot on.

The invoice date seems a bit odd. The car was unused for 5 years and had no MOT, it then got MOT's 12 days before the Hartech invoice date. So, just guessing, but if it blew up and that's the reason why it was unused for 5 years, how did it get MOT'd almost 2 weeks before the date of the engine rebuild?

I'l going to keep an eye on it though.

It certainly is. I'm sure it sold for well over £10K before. I wonder what put the first buyer off?

You'd like to think the engine is worth that alone, but as mentioned previously, there's some serious shrinking of the MAF plug rubber boot, which suggests a serious overheat, which could well have happened since the engine rebuild.

£90 for a fob and programming - I bloody wish. Still, the car is an interesting option for someone unconcerned by mileage. Resale might well prove tricky though.

Yes, I don't believe, that he believes that a main Porsche dealer only charges £90 either. Not a great thing to put in an ad as it shows dishonesty, IMO.

Agreed it's up there with 'aircon just needs a regas' and 'got a quote to fix all rust for £150'

Under ten grand and it starts to look like an interesting proposition.

Which indy was that and how long ago? I'm on the lookout for a working remote.

RSR and probably 4 or 5 years ago? It wasn't log after I'd bought the car

Welcome to Porsche ownership. Where they take a very normal looking aluminium and leather gear knob, stick a Porsche crest on it and suddenly it's £1000. Would you like a matching handbrake sir? That'll be another £1000 please.
