what is an 'early' 3.4 996?
Discussion
Secretly had my eye in this one but it appears to have sold fast.

Looks smart, I hate those exhaust tips though. The OE ones are perfect, i do wish people would stop trying to jam quad pipes in the cutouts.https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/154552643247
Excellent value for someone who is after a driver.

This ^As for that interior, it makes a change from doom black, but whether or not it's good change is different matter altogether ...

Your car sounds great, much what I plan including some Carbone seat inserts and gearstick. Do you have any photos? Would love to see them. I do think you underestimate your abilities though, I fear I will be paying someone to do the majority of the work.
Still some small things to do both outside and inside. Apologies for the crap exterior photo, I'm not really one for taking photos of my cars.I have always said that I'm a great fan of the 997 standard seats. Not only are they supremely comfortable, they look very good as well. IMHO they look better, and certainly more elegant, than the sports seats with their big bolsters.
And for the 99% street driving I'm doing, lateral support is just fine.
Also the standard side skirts look best, again imho. And I really like the Turbo style wheels with the black spokes. First time I have seen them like this and it really works!
On an other note:
Am I the only one who thinks the original 986 Boxster front looked best?? I know of a german 996 owner who put a 986 front on his 996 for this reason, and it really looked good!
996.1 with 986 front, standard side skirts, CSR ducktail and 997 seats

I absolutely agree and was tempted to buy a 2.7 Boxster instead of a 3.2 for this reason. But my balls got the better of me. However I can't see anything wrong with this picture ... if you ignore the trying too hard 18 inch wheels ...
Yup, I like the boxster front as it properly addresses the pointless middle cutout for the non existent 3rd radiator.
I've thought about a ducktail for mine to add to my tribute to the elements of the older air cooled cars (not a back date). I go between loving it and thinking it just looks wrong. Ideally I'd like a framed mesh or black slatted cover with a 3.4 badge.

Am thinking of going for this one...https://clubautosport.co.uk/product/1998-2005-pors...

For the record, I never said I expected a £14k C4 to be immaculate, afterall its 15.5% of the price of a new C4 (I just checked, the C4 coupe starts at £90,450 inc vat).
I've run plenty of older cars and I know how it goes.

C2.
Where we live, a place called Chale Green, there's rarely snow and little frost, but its wet, in heavy rain the road to my boys school is running in water and there's a lot of mud, cow st and other mess on the road, my wife's driving style managed to spin a Mercedes SL a few yeads back. For all these reasons I'd prefer a C4.

I know what you mean about the wheels, I’m just not sure what to change them to. However I can't see anything wrong with this picture ... if you ignore the trying too hard 18 inch wheels ...

I like the standard 10 spokes and they are correct from Porsche for the car although I think they came later than our earlier 1997/8 cars. Couple of guys on here have the original 17 inch twists which are period correct. You're welcome to try some like mine on your car as I have a spare set. I like the look of Fuchs but only when they have painted centres. You could achieve the same painted centre look with either of the Porsche 17 wheels mentioned above. My first 911 experience was as a passenger in a 1980's Club Sport light weight in white with red decals and Fuchs with red centres. I've been tying with the idea of recreating this look with my silver car and using a Boxster red hue to match the interior.

Thanks for the offer, I'm leaning towards Silver Fuchs, not a fan of black wheels on silver cars.
Next job on the list is a suspension refresh and new hollow ARB's. Maybe then I'll get to the wheels.
If you’re upgrading from standard ARB’s I don’t think you can go wrong with a front bar off a boxster S (996 M030) equivalent - they are pretty cheapNext job on the list is a suspension refresh and new hollow ARB's. Maybe then I'll get to the wheels.
2nd hand (I paid £30 for mine). I’ve got an H&R adjustable rear.
