What do we think of this?

Looks a bit early 996 at the back but not sure what's going with the headlights.

I think its a bit ugly.

sits to high, but for an idea that was thrown about 20 odd years ago it looks ok, remember you could still get a austin back then!

Oh god! It made me do a wee bit of sick in my mouth.

The front end is like when people stick those st covers over 996 headlights trying to make them round. Just buy a bloody 997 if you are bothered

Giving the 24 year old paint some love. Nothing I can do about the stone chips. First time polishing this 996 since buying it as well. The paint wasn't too bad, but rather swirly.

Ocean Blue Met for those interested.

Same as mine! I've recently invested in a buffing machine and excited to see what it can do to my paint - in a similar condition to your before image!

Spotted the CSR this afternoon on its way to Woodhead Pass.

That's both your 911's i've seen in the wild, on the hunt for the Boxster's!

It is probably Boxster weather if I'm honest. Maybe I should park this one and give the Boxsters some loving.

BoxsterS? Just saw your profile. You have two 996s and two Boxsters?!

I have an annoying speaker whine in my 996. It only comes from the driver side rear speaker. The one to the side of the rear seat.

It rises in pitch with revs which I think would generally be an earth or an alternator issue but would seem strange that only one speaker is effected.

The car has standard DSP set up (amp in the frunk) but has been upgraded to PCCM+. Though worth mentioning that this issue appeared several months after PCCM+ upgrade so I doubt they're related.

Anyone had similar?

I had a really strong feedback when I put the Continental in mine, but earthing the head unit directly cured it.

Cheers Chris. My gut feeling is that if it were the head unit, it would effect all speakers. Of course, it hasn't done it at all over the last few days when I've wanted to investigate it!

Doesn't look right to me. Too long after the rear wheels, rear wing integration not right, and surely could have done better with the fog light.

Back dated 996?, I was wandering if this trend would start and if anyone could come up with a well proportioned car. Especially since the G body cars are now fetching strong money. 20 years from now will there be a 996 re imagined by Singer, the fried egg study smile
