what is an 'early' 3.4 996?
Discussion
I have an annoying speaker whine in my 996. It only comes from the driver side rear speaker. The one to the side of the rear seat.
It rises in pitch with revs which I think would generally be an earth or an alternator issue but would seem strange that only one speaker is effected.
The car has standard DSP set up (amp in the frunk) but has been upgraded to PCCM+. Though worth mentioning that this issue appeared several months after PCCM+ upgrade so I doubt they're related.
Anyone had similar?

I had a really strong feedback when I put the Continental in mine, but earthing the head unit directly cured it.
Cheers Chris. My gut feeling is that if it were the head unit, it would effect all speakers. Of course, it hasn't done it at all over the last few days when I've wanted to investigate it! Back dated 996?, I was wandering if this trend would start and if anyone could come up with a well proportioned car. Especially since the G body cars are now fetching strong money. 20 years from now will there be a 996 re imagined by Singer, the fried egg study
