Hi All. As the title says. How do I remove my centre Console on my T reg Chimaera? I did a search on here and youtube, but nothing came back.
I remember doing it 15 years ago with my first Chimaera, but have forgotten,as i'm very old now.
I know there is two self tappers at the front, and one more at the back under the floor of the little tray. But how do i get it over the door opening knob?
The leather don't want to stretch enough to come over the Knob.Is it possible to raise the console enough, and possibly remove the door opening knob?
Thanks in advance Dave.

The door opening knob is held on by a grub screw low down on the shaft below the leather.

Pull out the window switches and disconnect them - they just pull off the connectors

There might be other screws than just the three - two front and one under the tray - depending on any "earlier repairs" so take it easy and don't force it.

The grub screw is small so you will need some mini allen keys. I've got a set 0.5 - 3.0 mm

I couldn't shift the gear knob on mine even with a boa type grip but it fits over that.

Hi over_the_hill. Thanks for that. I will look out for those other possible screws.

The grub screw is 1.5 mm. It is at the front of the Knob. At the bottom directly below the two arrows on the top.

Just taken mine off and retightened.smilesmile

Tried them. I suspect it's been superglued on at some point.
