I ran a 2010 one for a year and a bit from new. Can't comment on longevity, but in the time I had it, I had no issues, and the BMW engine is a big improvement over the PSA one it replaced. Despite being a diesel, the car was still revvy and go-kart like and good fun to drive. Ride was a little on the firm side (possibly the run-flats) and it felt solid and well built, although interior squeaks and rattles seem common place.

A family friend has a 2011 cooper s diesel. 2.0 diesel engine and the car is great to drive

Feels really torquey and surges with enthusiasm in any gear.

It sounds like bus though

Currently got a 5 door SD as a courtesy car. Usually drive a Fiesta ST.

Compared to the 3 door Fiesta, the Mini feels cramped, handles crap, sounds dreadful, but gets good mpg. Rides softer than the ST, mind. Feels well built, but ultimately a very boring car. The "go kart" handling slogan for it is just cringe too.
