Which bit are you denying?

I don't think you realise what you have written on here sometimes, I could say the exact same to you with the selective memory...
My car has never been for sale, EVER, I got offered £100k for it before I had it, as it was an early car, and turned it down, and then a load of bullst on here people saying I sold it, I even got a phone call from Porsche lol I did the custard test with it on my spoiler and people still called me on it lol crazy world forums. I am sure some one on here phoned Porsche and said my car was sold, but it was another yellow car from the same dealer lol ! They have been banned from my OPC.

I gave an honest review of the GT4 from my PEC drive, the PCCB were dire and the car understeered like a piggy. The yellow PEC car was rough imo, it then had new brakes I remember. It was an honest review while every one else was saying how great the yellow PEC car was.
One thing I do is give honest reviews on cars even when I own them I won't lie and say it's perfect if it has downsides.
They are only metal, if you want to know about a car and not a bias owner review I'll post it. and get slated every time lol

Early on I changed the sus and added aftermarket rear toe links to allow a proper GT geo, it transformed the car.

I still think the engine is poor over 6.5k and I think 85mph in 2nd is stupid, but I have always said it's still a great car, but My R is more fun on the road, I would have no issue keeping it, but if I get a GT3 in manual, I'll part ex it in for one, I would prefer a Cayman RS though.

So you have bought 1 new car in 47 years, can I assume you have bought many second hand cars from an OPC to establish a relationship (which seems to be what is required) and based on that relationship you think you might get a call with an allocation at which point you will pay your deposit for a confirmed order?
Correct , that's about it, only bought 2 2nd hand cars though. but I am not a flipper (my GT4 has never been for sale) and all 3 of my cars are looked after by my OPC.
I am just waiting for the 2018 allocations and see what happens.
Good luck with your allocation, I am sure you are well up on the DP's list.
Maybe that was why his OPC suggested they didn't take/want deposits?

Again only ever had 1 login ;-) joined in 2002, been here longer than most, many people do try and spam/copy my login and make up names close to mine, but it's all a sad.

Just came across this post.

I am not a lawyer by trade but it helps to read the terms and conditions as per the deposit or order form; but even after signing such form(s) the dealer has some leeway via the terms and conditions where i am sure it must state that they are able to cancel due to x/y/z circumstances but this seldom happens with Porsche and GT cars spec at such low volumes and high list prices unless a dealer wishes to be very unscrupulous and offer your car (that you may have paid a deposit on / signed order form) to someone who is pals with the DP and suddenly decides he wants one or offers a crazy offer £££ over list and they can't say no.
By which time they default to the terms and conditions which states 'blah blah blah.... ' and you just have to move on.

The gentleman who won his case i am not familiar with so i cannot comment but good lock to him if he was able to secure a car but taking your dealer to court to secure a car; who knew waiting lists and order forms could be so complicated lol.

This happened to me back in 2002 (forgive my memory) i think when i was one of the first, if not the 1st person to place a deposit on the new yet to be released E60 M5 indeed they didn't even have photos or spy shots released at the time but i placed a hefty deposit to secure one of the 1st dealers cars.
Lo - and behold 6 months after the car was released i saw three e60 M5's on the road and called up the dealer and said in no uncertain terms what is going on and was given short shrift in essence to refer back to the terms and conditions whereby it stated that placing a deposit does not guarantee a car.
What could i do i just had to move on. I demanded my deposit back and they refused unless i bought a car off them (which wouldn't be delivered till 18 months later) in the end i had to just let them have it. Lesson learned.
Always read your terms and conditions and if you can get it in writing from your salesman/manager that you will be assigned a car or at least a build slot. But even then they can if they really want wriggle out of supplying you a car 'I'm sorry sir our 2018 allocation has sold out' etc.

I was too late to the GT3.2 party. Saw it in Geneva and instantly fell in love but a call to various OPC's got me a combination of polite 'I'm sorry we have sold out on our allocation and indeed could sell 10 times the amount of cars we will be receiving from Porsche UK I'm sorry sir, goodbye to laughs of derision to sales guys that would rather i had bought 5-10 cars from their dealership earlier to even be considered being in with a chance of even being considered lol if that makes sense.
They hype around this car is crazy but it is justified, those of you receiving cars and confirmed build slots are very lucky and for any reason if anyone wants to give up theirs I'm more than happy to take it but i think i have more chance of finding a hen with teeth or a woman that doesnt argue than getting a car, but hey you never know!

Dont shoot me for saying this but we all know soon after launch that a steady stream of physical cars will appear for sale, prices maybe a bit heady but hey, you're moaning how great the car is and how you want the next fresh thing out of Stuttgart so swallow your pride, haggle hard and pay a higher price? The market dictates what prices the cars are worth anyway, if you don't like it, sell it again, is no biggy. A boyant market is good for selling. At least you get chance to touchy feely exactly what you're buying, you can't do that with a factory order, specs on these cars [apart from paint colour perhaps] are much of a muchness and who cares about an extra name on the log book anyway?!

Just saying......

Some fairly lucid observations but will be lost on many. They won't get it and aren't brave enough to pay overs. If they'd paid say £200k for a GT3 RS 4.0 they'd now be sitting on £600k and lots of fun to boot. They still won't get it smile

I do hope not! According to my OPC they won't get 2018 allocations for a little while yet. But maybe someone else better in the know canshed some light on it?

I was told mid to late September for the confirmed build slots for the 2018 cars.

The know roughly how many they are getting, but I was told no commitment for me yet until then have been given confirmed builds.
