Made the mistake of "just going to test ride it, probably won't even like it"

Decided to trade in my Kawasaki ER6 for a Z900, picking it up next Saturday. Can't wait!

Picture of the test ride.. Have ordered mine in the same colour scheme

The photo doesn't do it justice. Looked at these when I went to the shyte London bike show and was quite impressed with its looks............apart from that bloody exhaust

I think kwaks are making some really nice naked style bikes right now. A nice sporty exhaust is all I'd do

That's the one. Bought my ER from them 3 years ago when I passed my test.

Agreed about the exhaust, I keep watching videos trying to decide which one I want more, the scorpion gp exhaust is winning so far, mainly for the looks.

My camera skills aren't brilliant.. Will post more pictures when I collect biggrin

Thanks both, 200 miles down so far - 400 to go for the first service biggrin

Spent some time cleaning it and my dads Z1000 this afternoon amazing how they're so similar yet so different

Edit:

Forgot to add photo with my mate in every midlands bikers favourite photo spot on Clee Hill

Just over a month in and I'm still enjoying it. Had a venture into wales towards Barmouth which was a nice 220 mile round trip.

The first service was done last week too - I'm starting to use some more of the revs, had to buy some more r&g goodies to celebrate, not fitted the tail tidy yet but can't wait to see what it looks like without that chunk of plastic hanging off the back cool

Looks beautiful. And i might have a quick look myself. I'm at a really strange time with my SV. I love the bike and I've had it for 3 years. I love how it looks and I enjoy riding it day in day out for the last month or so (it's became my commuter over sitting in traffic in the 340i) but i feel like I want more power, but do i need more? Am I holding the SV back? Apparently SV's handle really well, but because I'm (IMO) pretty st on the bike I haven't stretched that.

Anywho, I'm going to have a look at Z's now tongue out How is the wind on it at and above motorway speeds? I quite like the idea of a naked next. Looked at CB1000R's quite a few times but not sure if I'd get on with the seating position.

Cheers all still loving it at the minute - it's a completely different animal to the ER6, inspires much more confidence on the brakes and in the twisties. It's the power wheelies that I'm not used to biglaugh

I had use of an SV after I passed my test before I got my own bike and obviously there was less wind if you tuck in at motorway speeds but the Z seems quite comfy at 70. I used to get neck ache on the ER after an hour or so at those speeds which I've not had yet with the Z. Give it a test ride... you know you want to! I was definitely not getting a new bike this year or next... Never mind

Have you looked at the GSX S750 or 1000 yet?
I just bought 750 and am totally smitten with it.
The photo doesn't do the paint finish justice, it's like a mica metalic and is stunning in sunlight cool

They don't crash well though smashbiglaughbiggrinbiggrin

And having ridden the thou and 750 I would definitely definitely recommend the thou. Bonkers engine in that for the money that's still really smooth when not provoked and decent mpg

750 is nice but I found it like an asthmatic fart in comparison. Given that engine is meant to be based on my gsxr 750 lump just retuned it certainly lost all its top end kick. Does get about 55mpg though!
