Put my car through a minor service and its been identified that I need to change my coffin arms.
The cost for Original Porsche items is £550.00 plus VAT, so I'm looking at aftermarket items from CTE, HRA and Meyle.

The VIN of my car is WP0ZZZ99Z6S736012

I've come across this on Eurocarparts, but the last 5 digits of the VIN is different. WP0ZZZ99Z6S735222

Looking for advice on

whether this CTE item would be suitable
or if anyone has had any experience with HRA or other options.

Looking to keep the cost down but retain as much quality as possible.

The final five digits are the bit that identify a specific car, don't worry.

Open to correction but thought TRW are original fit & a quick search turns them up at around £230 for a pair. I fitted them on my Cayman two years ago & no problems whatsoever so far.

This is what you want, assuming it's the front. So long as the part number on whatever you plump for lists the equivalent, you'll be ok.

They're amendments to the design. The main thing is if you track down, for example a set of TRW or Meyle arms and they give either of those numbers in the part description & they almost always do, they will fit.

If you Google E 997 katalog, you'll get the parts catalogue for the car.

I have used the CTE items and the alignment was not too far out afterwards. (meaning the dimensions are close)

A year and a half later still no issues.

I seem to read a lot of discussions regarding these. Do these start to wear around a certain mileage & does it amount to an mot failure. How will I know when they need replacing ?
