Have to say it is ridiculous. This flipping must be completely on the radar of P uk. They must know the buyers who are doing this. Makes a complete mockery of the ‘ allocated to loyal buyers ‘ only philosophy
To be honest I think Porsche are entirely happy at least a few cars go to the flippers so they are out there with huge premiums generating headlines about the desirability of the GT cars.

Have to agree with all the recent posts below :

Yep , price headlines must be nice for Porsche but there is no doubt, they will know who’s doing this - there are so few delivered that a quick look onine at the spec will narrow down and if not, a trip to the dealer would as the vin is on the windscreen - the trouble is even if they did want to stop it, the customer can tell them to “do one” and at this level of profit future overs on new allocations don’t matter.

But most of all I agree with the post about how much is being asked for these cars - absolutely crazy - and anyone who buys at anywhere near this level is bonkers !

What cars are advertised for is often amusing, and headline worthy, but doesn't mean they sell at that level, or anything like it. I know of two early 2RS which have been flipped, both nearer to 400k than 500k. Even the lower of those two appears to me to be pretty fully valued given where 997 (far more limited) is, and where 4.0 is. Then again what do I know....market madness means you 2+2 doesn't always equal 4. Or anywhere near 4.

That certainly sounds more “sensible” if one can use that word in this context smile

I hear with factory shut down that’s it now. No more GT2RS allocations to the UK. Has anyone heard the same? Had a com number but no confirmed order. Does not look good!?

I heard no more petrol variants being built after April. Take that as you will, so many rumours.

Forget about shut downs - I saw a GT2 RS being driven down Haslemere High Street today in the cold and the rain! Fair play to the new owner. It looked like something from outer space....

Sorry to hear that. My OPC got it's allocations in November IIRC and I am pretty sure that's all they expected. The cars they allocated were all due to be built Jan/Feb.

Not sure what a com number is ?

Com number is a commission number which is assigned to new vehicle prior to production before the build takes place.

Admittedly that is just plain silly especially when there are a couple of UK cars at £580k

Are there similar premiums in Europe? I know of a LHD GT Silver car with WP that can be had for approx 130,000 euro over list and you would be the first owner not he logbook. Seems a bargain compared to the UK prices.

I don't understand why there are such huge values placed on this car. Yes it is the latest and greatest, and has been hugely hyped up especially after the Nurburgring record. But.. as I understand it's not a limited edition car like the 911R? It will be interesting to see how many they make in total.
Agreed. It’s also turbo pdk which means a better and faster one will also be released in due course. I understand better the hype with GT3, manual and / or RS which could be the last of an era...

Also the situation on U.K. cars is ridiculous, lhd cars in Europe are better distributed, used and enjoyed. People put proper miles on them and I feel there’s much less flipping going on.

Porsche Uk should just get more cars and squash the flippers.

If you really want one get a LHD, it’s not an everyday car anyways and you will use it on clear open roads where there’s little issue. And on track there strictly no difference. Resale market also much bigger.

Lhd cars from Europe are more expensive at list (considerably so for the gt2rs) due to currency rates and don't command the same premium as rhd cars. People very clearly want rhd cars at rhd list prices....

Porsche UK should bump up prices first off to match European prices rather than merely get more cars.

It may be a bigger resale market, but the RHD UK market is where the bigger profits are perceived to be, at the moment....
which is what most UK buyers* seem to want. Garage Queens and Profiteers..

  • - Obviously not all buyers, I, like many on here, have been buying GT Products since the 996 and buy to use...

Its arrived...!

Well sort of. The car arrived (with other GT2s(?) in Grimsby and will (hopefully) make its way through the snow and ice to the dealer. Really hoping to be able to see it by the end of the week.

Meanwhile I keep looking at all othe piccies of cars that have been delivered.

In other news. Why is APOLLO so quiet, and where are piccies and a write-up of his car?

Looking forward to the arrival of a black one in April, I have heard the car is a lot more than a 2wd Turbo S.
You have a few miles on yours now I believe, how’s the traction in this cold weather?
