I thought it was a legal requirement to have an address, business or registered, on your website. Certainly for Ltd companies.

So many I see now have nothing more than a phone number and an email address.

I doubt I would approach any business that didn't want me to know its address.

Apart from anything else, I usually find businesses on Google and always use the map.

So although they are keeping their details to themselves, they are not doing their business any good in the process.

It instantly turns me off sites.

And gives me a real insight into my competitors.

Even some webdesigners are missing it out! Which again to me shows true industry knowledge and quality.

Ah that one is user error. You need implied consent, not a click on a button. Popups are because people misunderstand this or are just plain lazy.

Just checked and if its a ecommerce site that takes payments you need your details on the site and if they use and Google services you can report it to them.

Though just to be contrary, I was a wedding photographer, and my website had lots of great wedding photos, good copy, phone number and e-mail. It worked extremely well.

It depends on the type of business. If you were looking for a gardener or carpenter, would you really be bothered if their 'No Job Too Small' website didn't have an SSL certificate or privacy policy, whatever that is?

Your list isn't "basic compliance", it's your opinion, which is more than is required to comply with the law.

Basic compliance as I understood it was: Company No, Country of Company Registration, if you're selling online then there's additional (privacy, cookies, VAT No etc...)
