The model has already been rumoured on here, but an article has now popped up.

https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/industry/aston-...

Presumably this now means the replacement Vanquish, will need to have even more power to remain top model.

I was told the engine could potentially go up to 800bhp (not sure what that does to driveability) so plenty more where that came from!

yup, and I think it bodes well for the outgoing Vanquish being replaced by a souped up DB11 rather than a new Vanquish

Yup, initially at least - but 8 or 9 years into production they will probably roll out another Vanquish wink

Not sure it's something to celebrate really, another Mercedes engine with turbos YAY.... I'd rather have a 5000bhp real AM DBS. Sigh I'm just old cynical

Not something to celebrate? Oh FFS, let's just get Aston to make nothing but legacy cars for their entire future and watch them go down the tubes, shall we? Get a grip.

The v12 isn't a Mercedes engine!

Blame the war on CO2 for that.

It is intriguing Rob, that several PH contributors have been confused, presumably because it has turbochargers.

I was at the Cologne engingine factory back in 2015 when the "let slip" that there would be a new version of the V12 coming out, which would be reduced capacity and be turbocharged.

It is most definitely an Aston engine and really struggle to understand why people think it is an AMG engine. I am on tour in Switzerland at the moment and have had the pleasure of following a very nice blue DB11 and it does make a great sound, not quite as good as mine but the other guys speak highly of it.

For me it is quite easy V8 - AMG , V12 - Aston.

The DBS name will return, which is why I keep wondering why people keep saying "DB11S".
Another Vanquish is slated to be made at some point down the road - but first there's the new Vantage, the DBS (or "DB11S"), the DBX, the RapidE, and the SUV (read: full size SUV, not crossover like the DBX).
Plus the Valkyrie and the rear mid-engine model tangentially derived from it to go up against the Ferrari 488 (or whatever they have when Aston's version comes to market).

I think that covers the next several years, and hopefully no more of that Cygnet nonsense...

Because JC told everyone that the DBS should be thought of as a DB9S, ergo a new DBS is a DB11S.

This is 100% correct.

Still, it's legislation as to why this is no longer an NA.

With the original DBS and Gaydon DBS being described as the V8 or V12 version of the DBS, then maybe the DB11 version of the DBS will be known as the Turbo DBS?

How about a DB-T?

DB11 Vantage would fit so well hadn't they spoilt the use of the Vantage name.
