I do tend to switch PCM on at the end of a morning run to look at data. Otherwise I have always used iphone for music/coms with air pods.

Early mornings evil

We should start a 997 thread about trip computer pictures with a story biggrin

This is my 997 Turbo trip from London to Bordeaux in the good old days when you could push on. Judging by MPG my turbo was very eco!

Here is mine. Posted a few times so apologies for the pea roast. I had about 8 or 9 days off between boxing day and first day back at work beginning of January and decided it was a brilliant idea to drive to the south of Italy for a couple of days and then back again. Massive 295 summer tyres and snow didn't really work and I got stuck several times in the way down. You can see in the pics it was -5 in places and totally white. It was the worst journey of my life and obviously I've never driven to Europe again since. I set off bright and early for the return journey and was pressing on as the weather was not too bad. I'd got as far as the toll booths for the ring road round Milan I believe when a rock smashed the windscreen. It was a proper break with a good dent in and a tiny hole in the centre. I called Porsche assist who then told me that even though I had the absolutely maximum cover for breakdown they did not cover glass and as it was new years eve I had no chance of getting any new glass for at least 2 days. So I had to drive all the way home with the window smashed. It was raining and I couldn't use the wipers. The whole time I was imaging it was just going to fall in on me and therefore I drove as slow as poss but obviously that meant the rest of the journey took a very long time.

It makes a good story though smile

I've done 1000 miles in my 997 now and beginning to gel with it properly. Got a proper trip to Cornwall next week to really get some miles on and get out of London traffic onto some country roads. If anyone has any recommendations for good driving roads around Falmouth I'm all ears.

Ha, some good trip records there. Glad to see I'm not the only one taking snaps of the trip meter. Like some others, I too typically just switch PCM on at the end of the trip to have a look.

I remember this being quite an epic trip in terms of "blasting through Europe" but I can now see I'm just a rookie (note: km/h)! It was from Germany to Calais.

Sounds like an admitedly silly thing to do but an epic trip nonetheless! Did you end up somewhere close to Naples?

Taken just past the summit of the Col de L'Iseran, dropping down towards Val D'Isere.

Here's another from the same trip..

Bonnie Scotland August this year.

Swapped my brand new 991.2 GTS for this and it was, for me and what I wanted from my car, the correct decision.

Would agree, but then I'm slightly biased...

More memories...had no room so sold the 7.2 to make room for the 991 but kept the 7.1

. This was a good car, and I had Sabine drive it:
