That’s awesome. How did that come about?
I generally stay at her mother's hotel when I am at the NS and met her there years ago. I wrote an article on her a few years ago.Very nice girl actually..pretty much the same as her public appearances. I do not know her particularly well but the Ring is a small place in terms of permanent people and I have gotten to know folks there on my trips.RiccardoG said:

Here is mine. Posted a few times so apologies for the pea roast. I had about 8 or 9 days off between boxing day and first day back at work beginning of January and decided it was a brilliant idea to drive to the south of Italy for a couple of days and then back again. Massive 295 summer tyres and snow didn't really work and I got stuck several times in the way down...
Sounds like an admitedly silly thing to do but an epic trip nonetheless! Did you end up somewhere close to Naples?Mariosbt said:
WOW! Must’ve been a bit nippy up there. Is that where Mateyboy crossed with his elephants? Must of been nuts
The best evidence suggests Hannibal used the Col de la Traversette - which is purely a bridle pass. That particular photo was taken on the Italian side of the Nufenen pass (Passo della Novena).
It was mid July, and I can't remember the temperature, but I'm fairly sure elephants wouldn't have liked it.
Another, this time on the Italian side of the Stelvio...
New owner, had mine about 2/3 weeks or so. Only really driven it back from where I bought it so far which is a bit of a shame. Booked in for a full mechanical inspection next week so I'll know if my plan has worked out...
New owner but not new researcher. Felt well informed about the prospect of 996/997 ownership. Ideally I would have had a decent 3.4 or a 996/997 C2 in an interesting colour but I couldn't wait long enough for one to come on the market. I want to own all the cars I wanted growing up before we're not allowed to drive them anymore and to be honest as lovely as a 997 is, it was the early 996 that really switched me onto porsche. Plus my first le mans was when the GT1 with the 996 lights ran...I'll never forget it.
With a budget of max £35k I actually decided to buy the cheapest one for sale in the UK. Cheapest as in....not silver (not my thing), not got shocking aftermarket 991 esque wheels, C2 3.6, manual, non sunroof and as close to poverty spec as I could find. It was priced about £4-5k less than then next nearest that met that criteria. Mine's even on 18's and I dare say is a smidge more compliant than my friends on 19's.
I went to see it really expecting to run away from it, but to be honest I couldn't find a reasonable excuse not to buy it. Great history, leggy (although now I have read this 93k miles makes it a nipper compared to some) and the interior needs some tlc but other than that it really is just a good 997 C2 that has been looked after and will serve the purpose of encouraging my lad into cars (my Z4M didn't have the airbag key so he couldn't come in that). Meanwhile I can sit and wait for the the right speed yellow, red, brown one to come along. I think I'll put about £2k into it straight away, clutch, flywheel, IMS and a good service....see what the inspection says and then just try to enjoy it for a bit.
Long live the internet experts....keeping 996's and 997's attainable for mere mortals.

Max, love your light strip on the back of your 997. Is that a retrofit? Was it easy/expensive?You can buy a retrofit for a gen 1, I was keen when I had a gen 1 4S but it was too expensive, I think it would look awesome though
