First thing that struck me which I guess is not that surprising on a 10 year old 112k km car is that is all looks a bit grubby..... so plan is to do a full dry ice clean before reinstalling along with a load of other maintenance that is easy to do whilst it is all out.

It sure is... and also one of mine : ) it is a Japanese import, no history, reading 67k km.... ha ha ha yeah right.... having it wound back up to its true mileage as we speak of 179k km.... (got hold of the 2 year 'mot' certificates from Japan to get it corrected as knew it was clocked but was very cheap). Good condition though and has also had some work done. Now looking beautiful (to my eye). Oh tints have since been removed....

Apologies for the Merc pics in a Porsche forum.

Anyway, back to topic. The fuel injectors..... we felt the power was down and thought it could be the injectors getting clogged. Very common problem in the UAE as fuel is not great. 95 octane mostly with 97 at say only 1/3 of stations. No 99. Needless to say i drive out of my way to get the 97 and normally top up with some Liquimoly Octane Plus but clearly prior owners didn't..... this is the state of the injectors!!!!!

I was told about this but after reading the below from Sharkwerks, I have decided against and hence fitting the two kits I gave the links to above. Sharkwerks and EVOMS are both adament this is the way to go. I guess time will tell

It's always interesting and very often useful to at least one 'someone' to see what's lurking under and behind things.

Pinning is not a fix. Just prevents disaster. Will still leak once epoxy breaks down.

I also used those new coolant fittings.
