T pack no brainer option at c £1600 extended leather on dash top, doors, coloured stitching, coloured 911 headrests coloured belts coloured fabric door pulls platinum /red/ yellow same price.

Sports seats electric adjustment heaters free makes GT3 priced £3350 buckets redundant on this model imo. Obviously no access to rear with P11 Spyder fixed buckets (T pack available) but bizarrely the slightly cheaper P3 folding buckets precluded the option of T pack.

Also heated rear window means spec excludes the all important weight saving thinner glass.

The slightly retro 70s 'Touring' classic alloys c £850 extra although these are heavier than the standard wheels both of which are finished in gloss grey metallic to match the mirrors and side graphics.

£1600 front lift option not required due to good front clearance and more weight. Also a c£1600 coloured 'sports' front splitter option the cost of which beggars belief!

Yep standard Carrera brakes perfectly satisfactory for car of the Ts performance despite 1 ill informed journo mentioning some fade during rapid descents from the high mountains above Monaco with one of the press cars. Some have specced ceramics but at £6.5k imo needless and way too expensive for this car and very unlikely to be recouped on resale.

The main two options I ticked were the yellow T interior pack and RAS. I wasn't much into deviated stitching but I have to say it looks great.

I've finally succumbed to temptation and intend buying a T next week..Based on owners who have taken delivery any advice on 'must have' spec would be appreciated..I've been offered a Lava,White or GR car with a combination of glass roof or not,manual/PDK etc..
My only 'must have' is RAS, every thing else is open for flexibility although i want to keep both weight and price down ..
I had a feeling you'd succumb to one..!

Mine is a very basic spec....RWS, LED lights, T interior, Park assist, Cruise, Leather MF wheel.

I'd suggest the T interior is a must have - unique to the T, and it's really nice. I wish I'd chosen the alcantara MF wheel instead of leather (I didn't spot it on the configurator when speccing..)

I wouldn't get a PDK car, or one with a sunroof. It doesn't need PCCB or lift, so its just colour choice really.

Pre reg new cars with no overs..Trouble is quite a few of them have been stupidly specced with PDK and glass roof...WTF...! If one is manual with non roof i will get one otherwise i will give it a miss..
I really like the new BMW M2 Competition so i might buy that instead...'Manuel' of course..;)
Edit..First choice colour on T is GR...No brainer IMMHO

Edited by Taffy66 on Sunday 22 April 12:37
I had an M2, it was fast, but it didn't feel that special, and I didn't like it enough to keep it that long. If you want the best 2WD car available, it has to be the Golf Clubsport S.

The new M2 comp may well have the S55 engine from the M3, but it now means its 55Kg heavier than it was before....You're going to love that...!

You're the one who got me hung up on RWS...! Its no problem as i spoke to Andy recently and he sees no problem in billing it out on your account...Times are really hard..
Seriously my favourite T i've been offered is a GR but its got the dreaded glass roof..The Lava is a good spec however i'm a bit coy on spending the extra dosh on paint..

It's very difficult to give spec advice on someone else's car choices. I went a bit mad with mine, I think I had way too much time and Porsche are experts at temptation. However I have had the car for 6-7 weeks now and am 1100 miles in with absolutely no regrets on what I specified.

Exterior Colour - I went GT Silver but have seen R/Yellow in the flesh and looks stunning and also think White/GR look great. I was once considering Lava as I have a friend with a GT3RS in lava and it looks stunning. However I saw a C2 in lava and it just didn't do it for me, I don't think it had enough contrasting black bits like the GT3 has.
Interior - The T pack is a must imo, very nice place to be and one of the best 911 interiors, especially in yellow but I'm biased
sun-roof - The dreaded dilemna of adding weight but the black roof just looks great. I am not a sun-roof fan generally but went for it, against my gut feeling for a 'lightweight' model. Have to say it adds a different ambience to the intertior with added daylight and gives you an option of more engine noise when open. I could live with or without it but happy I have it.
Transmission - manual all the way, great gearbox imo and I think a few reviews have got it wrong.
Rear axle steer - glad I have it, but can only really be noticed if you drive two cars back to back, with and without imo
PCCB - not a must but why not, they look great with yellow interior !!!
Wheels - I prefer the Carrera S but purely a matter of individual opinion i think.
seats - I have full buckets which, I have to say, I had sleepless nights over specifying. However they make the car come alive for me. The fit and feel are so good but they are not for everyone.
sound - went for Bose but hardly listen to it as the car sounds so good - watch for the DAB, it was missed by Porsche in early specified models - not sure if they are coming up with a retro-fit yet.
glass - I went for privacy glass then latterly found out that this deletes lightweight glass - pissed off a bit with that as would have preferred the LWG and not sure I'm going to get a retro-fit for it. In defence PGB offered to build me a new car but with another 8 week wait at the time.

My thoughts are if you can get one at list in GR/RY/GTS or white (jury's out on Miami Blue for me personally) with T interior, manual and your preference on seats you won't regret. Any other options will give you something to think about.

I now have another excuse for gratuitous photos of my car below:

Mine should have been here by now but hit a production delay, not sure if caused by the sales stop.

No idea where it is now, waiting to hear and getting excited as the weather gets better.

White, PCCBs, folding buckets, yellow belts and dials and Agate seatbelt passages on the buckets.

Hi Chris, I agree with what you say, yet I went minimal spec on mine. I chose the same GT silver, but only added RWS, park assist, T interior and cruise. I love the simplicity of it. Other than wishing I'd specced an alcantara MF wheel, I wouldn't change a thing.

I did want the full buckets, but I need to use the back seats, and besides, you couldn't get the T cloth interior with buckets...

Sounds great, don’t forget photos when you get it and also there’s a private Facebook group with about 15 owners on if you want to join. Lots of photos etc. If you pm me your email I’ll add you assuming your a FB user

Just got back from the South of France, where I took my T up and down the Col De Turinin, Red Rock Road etc - and I am staggered by how much I love the car.

Perfect for those roads, PCCB's & rear axle steer I really think came into their own too. My bro's 488, Archie's Huracan, and even my former F12 couldn't put ground between themselves and the T in that setting. Have never had more fun behind the wheel. I think it's a very special car & I'm so glad I brought it, not the Aventador.

Will be going again next year and possibly opening it up to others to jump in with same transport company/villa etc.

Yep! Top bloke and an amazing day. Love his RS - it's perfect! Some cool shots of his viper RS, my yellow T, a black GT3 and a signal yellow .2 GT3 in convoy coming to my Instagram and Youtube this week!

E mail received to say my car is now with dealer. Not been excited up to now, but looking forward to seeing it. My first 911...lets hope I can get over my previous preconception about the image. [sorry!]
