They are a must have option for me on sporty 911s unless you cant get on with them really define the feel of the interior

I have not but its a v simple retrofit only tricky part is obtaining said buckets for a reasonable price
I really wanted buckets, but then I also really wanted the cloth T interior.

The T cloth interior won the battle, and I'm pleased with my choice. Besides, the 4 way seats are incredibly comfortable, despite their limited range of adjustment.

That was my predicament as well....and as my car has started to become almost a daily, glad I did..!

There is a GT silver one at Mid Sussex,

LWB
Ceramics
Full Leather
Bose
Sport Chrono
Silver belts
and few extra bits that don't spring to mind.

Was down there today, it's not listed for sale yet.

Does anyone know how much weight the burnmester adds in weight over the bose and standard hifi? Was surprised to see it as an option on the T i think you cannot spec it on GT cars

Have found a nice specced white one but it does have a sunroof and I was worried about rattles. Has anyone had any problems with their sunroof?

I had a glass sunroof on a 991. Quite substantial, but not as rigid as a solid roof, although no discernible rattles.

Obviously adds weight in the worst place, and seems very odd on a T, especially if it has lightweight glass elsewhere. I would have thought the point of a T would be to keep weight levels low, otherwise it's just another standard 991?

On the seat thread... How comfortable are the LWB's? I sat in one in a showroom and it felt exceptionally hard but think they look great?

Also, how is everyone finding the gearing on the T? I'm finally getting to test drive one on the weekend.
I have the LWB's and was drived a bit by the look of them as I think they really enhance the interior. However I was lucky enough to try them and compare back to back with other 991.2 seats. I think they can be an acquired taste and not everyone will find them comfortable. i have done a few 2-3 hours non-stop trips in them varying from some m'way and some pressing on A/B road driving and love them still. No issues with being hard for me but it could be my fat arse that compensates.

I like the gearing and the gear change. 6th and 7th are really only used on cruising situations, and 7th works well for that. I am getting in a habit of driving in lower gears, turning the Bose down and just listening to the engine mechanics driving

Hope you enjoy the test drive. I didn't have that luxury but no regrets whatsoever. Superb car

Thanks so much for your reply. I think I'm going to take the plunge on the LWB's as they're so well suited to the ethos of the T and no chance of 6 foot plus children ever fitting in the rear seats now!

the cars weighs 1425kg (if you pick the lightest options) a basic 911 weighs 1430kg

best not to get hung up about weight imo it's 5kg !!! talk of weight saving and lightweight glass is laughable marketing !!!
strip it out with daft glass and RS door pulls etc , it still weighs more than a full fat GT3 with massive wheels and a wing and old school pulls !!

If people wanted a drivers/lighter car the GT4 has NA engine and weighs 1340kg a full 100kg lighter ! that you might notice.

Yep totally agree. I think the T needs to be as stripped back as possible.

Thats true but the 'ethos' of the T is a lightweight 911, so i would say more if you are speccing a lightweight 911 then why not make it a T. I don't think its bad to add in stuff to a T as you would to a regular carrera per se if you are not trying to create a basic lightweight 911..

it really should have had the S brakes though IMO and remains a too token gesture but others in this thread have said otherwise after driving so what do i know.

I specced the glass sunroof on mine

Pros are that it looks great smile, it adds a nice ambient light through the cabin as well and with it open, the noise is so much more pronounced. It appears very rigid and I cannot notice any rattles / squeaks and I am a stickler for that.

It obviously adds weight in the most undesirable location on this car

I agree the S is a far better car as the brakes are needed imo on cars that put on the lbs, I 'll take big brakes and the extra 50HP for the 10kg weight penalty the S has, you might get 1/2 of that weight back specing buckets in the S over chairs.

I am still totally lost on the T model and I still think they added RS door pulls and lauched it to pick up failed GT3 orders as a "drivers car" just at the same time GT3 slots were all filled !

the T is after all the a base model with some choice S options !! that's it ! I guess why a few people speced PCCB's on the T to make up for it a little but those put it over S money then , a very odd choice and a very odd car imo that does not take anything away from the car, all Porsche are good cars, it's juts my personal opinion why I would not order one my self.

If it were a 6 speed 1300kg car with S brakes that's a whole new Story, but alass it was a bit of a poor effort imo.

I agree. It's a base 911 with a couple of nice options yet comes out around £95k. That's serious money. I don't get the T branding either, the old ones weren't sporting yet the 991.2 version has the potential to have lightweight glass/no rear seats/buckets etc.

it seems every owner loves them though and that's all that matters smile

I visited my OPC last week intent on buying a T, but since all were either PDK or with glassroof and all had privacy glass i politely declined..While i was there i had a testdrive in a as new white 981 spyder, which i immediately bought after some haggling.
No regrets as its well over 100kg lighter than the lightest spec T,coupled with a 375HP 3.8L Nasp flat 6 and an amazing manual 6 speeder.I can't imagine any T getting even close to the Spyder in terms of fun with the added benefit of guaranteed future classic car status due to less than 200 cars in the whole of the UK.
I also enjoy the Spyder way more than my recent GT4 which speaks volumes; so what hope does the T have i wonder..?
I am however going for a testdrive in the T next week to see what all the fuss is about but i can't see it usurping my Spyder...!

Maybe on a track you might notice the weight difference but I never have ,certainly on the road it is not noticeable .

229 Spyders? How many Ts?

UK dealers seem to have got 3 cars each at best, 1 at worst. If there are 42 dealers in UK (data from Porsche website) then the number of Ts in UK could be far fewer than Spyders.

DVLA figures only currently run to the end of 2017. It'll be several months until we get access to Q1 and Q2 2018 data so it's guesswork up to then I'm afraid!
