Question:

Why did Porsche give the T a larger rear spoiler than on the base car and is there any official information on this? When deployed you can see it up whilst driving which I consider a plus!

Is that not just the seating position?

I've noticed that the ability to see the top of the raised spoiler on 997s and 991s varies with different seats.

There are two stages on the T spoiler, the second stage is indeed much higher than the normal Carrera and I have not found a way of raising it too the second stage without driving, unlike the first stage which can be done on the the switch...

Two stages for mine are

1) Higher than other 911’s but probably the same as a GT3 Touring.....easily seen in my seating position which is right On the floor..

2) Second stage when the sunroof is open..even on tilt.... Looks almost vertical... due to the change on aerodynamics....?

I assume other 911’s have this with the Pan roof.... Is a T without roof also 2 stage..?

I posted some photos when I first got my car at the end of Jan on this thread somewhere..!!

I think anything specced with the sunroof makes the spoiler sit higher. my GTS does it too.

I’ve been told these can be taken to 500bhp comfortably, within safe tolerances

Looks like a deal - aren't they generally over list?

I think the first cars on the market were advertised over list...not sur any sold over list though... available with most OPC’s having at least one for sale.

To sell privately you’d need to show some flex, most people would rather buy a car this expensive from a dealer and most people use finance. And I doubt he’s been bid that by a dealer...

One I was looking at with minimal miles (not looking any more) is now £k2/3 cheaper than originally advertised and is now below list - there are over 20 virtually mile free cars for sale plus new unregistered cars. Most of these have been around for weeks and weeks : I imagine lots of people used them as GT tickets.

They are going to drop a bit more. They weren't cheap from the start, lots hanging around, and an awkward price point - GT4, 991 GTS, or T scratchchin

Yep, lovely car but as I said at launch it was a great marketing exercise to shift base 991's before 992 launch.

Once they hit 60-70k in a couple of years it will be a great buy.

It's my T and a fine specimen if I say so myself!
All details are true. Only vaguely considering selling as am motivated on a pals 911. Not got too long left otherwise mates car is being PX'd
Also I have a strong feeling, if I drive the car - it would stay!
With ref the current market and T prices. I've had a couple of trade offers but too shy on the numbers.
One OPC dealer openly said I'd be better off financially hanging on to it for a few months. Apparently Porsche 2018 cars are selling with stocks held starting to diminish. Once the numbers decrease obviously interest and prices should improve.

Ref the one comment 'needs to be flexible' at my asking price of near £5k under list for a good optioned T - any more flexibility and I'd snap!!
Can't do anything about folk needing
finance but there are buyers whom dislike drip and even some who aren't adverse to conducting business privately thus saving a few shilling !!

To be fair you do have an advantage that OPCs are genuinely running out of stock (certain models). Difficult to predict how prices will hold up for the next 12 months but some cars (for example 2nd batch 991.2RS) won't now be delivered until next June/July. For the short term - when there gone there gone.

Yep but if he is selling for £k5 under list - just imagine what the OPC offered him ; either way I hope it finds a good home : nice cars smile

OPC buyers are savage carnivores BUT in fairness not as bad as that. Well discussed, what they need/expect to clear per unit.
One positive surprise being that the car is more appealing as it is relatively low but key spec.....

hahahahaha Never thought I'd be pleased with less is more !!
