Anyone for ‘T’
Discussion
Congratulations on that purchase....I did not see that car for sale, where did you buy it from?
I have a yellow in similar spec and I think it’s a perfect drivers car..... and a very good investment, the prices are only going up on proper spec Carrera T’s
The white one at AUV was nice, but sold within a few hours! But it did have a sunroof.

Thanks - I was doing my regular trawl of Pistonheads/Autotrader etc. and then saw that OPC Stockport had just got one in. One video of a dirty car later and deposit paid.I have a yellow in similar spec and I think it’s a perfect drivers car..... and a very good investment, the prices are only going up on proper spec Carrera T’s

I thought I would share my thoughts having taken delivery of my T last week. Over the last 10 years I have had an M3 CS, a 1M and most recently a C63. Whilst all brilliant (to a greater or lesser extent), it’s been a revelation to be back behind the wheel of a 911.
Engine - I was a little bit concerned that the 991.2 engine would leave me regretting not holding out and waiting for a 991.1 GTS in NA form. However, initial impressions are that it still displays character, it sounds fairly decent and the low down torque is well suited to current day traffic levels.
Gearbox - a little bit cumbersome when cold but once its warmed up I find it great. Sure, the addition of a 7th gear is taking a bit of adjustment but at a steady cruise on a boring road (dual carriage or M-way) it does the job. The increased interaction the manual provides is just what I was seeking. Jury is out on the rev matching in sport although in fairness my heal and toe skills haven’t been utilised for some time so I could do with a helping foot.
Performance - the car definitely feels alive and provides encouragement to have some fun. Not driven it as much as I would like as of yet, but so far it feels quick enough to make progress but not so rapid that it can’t be extended for more than a few seconds at a time. The steering seems nice enough and is pretty responsive. Being the last of the narrow bodied cars means placing it on narrow roads is straight forward - always handy when on coming traffic strays into your lane as happened to me at the weekend.
Practicality - not the primary consideration but the appeal of a 911 is in part its usability. This is now my main car and I am impressed that there is just about room for 4 people. My 14 year old son has somehow managed to convince my wife that she should sit in the back. In fairness she isn’t likely to grow any taller.....
Interior - the view from behind the wheel remains evocative (dials etc.) even if being able to see the front wings is a thing of the past. The interior isn’t that fancy in terms of trinkets but its a nice enough place to be and the quality seems good. Sport-tex seats are great and I like the lack of leather. My car doesn’t have the T interior pack (a supposed must have) - the coloured door pulls would have been nice but I don’t miss the striped seats. It doesn’t look like there are many manual/non sunroof/lightweight glass cars out there so this was a trade off I didn’t mind making.
So, overall really pleased with my purchase and glad I pulled the trigger within hours of seeing my car pop up.
