Anyone for ‘T’
Discussion
I thought I was there on spec as I was going to go buckets with the standard black interior.. I now need to put a code/spec in to cover me if buckets don't appear though and I'm torn between the T interior in green or grey and whether or not I need the rear seats. Not planning on selling so resale is not a consideration and I don't need the rears really.. no young kids and the lack of them seems to add to the exclusivity of the T somehow (plus give a bit more storage).
Is anyone else going down the no rear seats route?
The green and the grey T interior both go fine with GT Silver exterior and the Racetex bits I want to add so it's a purely aesthetic consideration. The grey stitching on the dash / seats etc looks almost black in the pics which seems a missed opportunity but I fear I may tire of the green (although it is a colour I like).. Ahhhh decisions, decisions! Still really hoping for buckets as I think they raise the kudos of the T somehow.

My approach to this is that the T exists to give you options on a car that are normally only available higher up the range.
Things like Manual box / Rear Steer / Buckets.
If you're going into this speccing 18way seats / Pan roof / Rear seats then isnt an S ( even a used one) the better car for you? - taking into account that the T is as Fat as every other 992 as well...
I accept that everyone is diff its just the way I'm pondering currently.. ( my Spec is Buckets, rear steer and thats about it )

I also decided to pass on my allocation this week. When it came to it I figured a 992.2 was a better option, so switched my deposit onto that. Also when I got the PCP quote through despite having strong residuals the interest was over £30k on a 4 year deal pushing payments high (or at least high relative to a year ago).

When was your allocation for? Was it a confirmed build slot ina specific month?Nurburgsingh said:

I'm swinging towards this view too. If I can't get buckets I think I will stick with rear seat delete and the green interior. Definitely going manual and rear steer also.Things like Manual box / Rear Steer / Buckets.

Buckets aside my car should look the same as this one (albeit in manual and with Racetex wheel / armrest)

I wonder if Guildford just need a new 911 demonstrator of any description, they sold their Carrera cab before Christmas and their GTS has now got 10K miles in less than six months.
BTW, have you been to PEC or are you going before your spec needs to be locked?
I have been to PEC to drive other derivatives… I will have to lock in the specs before PEC gets their new T.BTW, have you been to PEC or are you going before your spec needs to be locked?
They offered me base 911 PDK or 911 S with MT. I have driven both already… if I can’t drive 911 T on the track, I might go for GT3.
Hoping someone can help me with a sunroof query.
I’m not adopting the light weight purist theme and am just speccing to my taste.
I really like the lighter interior cabin that a sunroof affords.
My question is, with this in mind do I have to get the glass sunroof? I’d rather have the body coloured one but assume no light with this unless open?

Yes, I think you answered your own question.I’m not adopting the light weight purist theme and am just speccing to my taste.

Glass roof really lightens-up the cabin, which is a feature on cloudy island.
I am going with a solid roof panel, but if I specced sunroof it would be glass. I had one on Macan S, it was very nice.

You'd loose the sporty cocooned-in feeling and the glass sunroof, not being body coloured, looks like a toupée. I’m not adopting the light weight purist theme and am just speccing to my taste.

Glass roof is a really nice touch, adds light and the black is potentially a nice contrast with body colour. As you say, buy what you want for yourself! I’m not adopting the light weight purist theme and am just speccing to my taste.

It does rather contradict the lightweight ethos of the T.
Extra weight in the wrong place - which is why the lwt roof is an option.
You are of course correct, however, I defy any mere mortal (as opposed to a driving God) to notice the difference! For me, if I want genuine lightweight driving I am lucky enough to have a Caterham R300 or an Exige 410. Extra weight in the wrong place - which is why the lwt roof is an option.
Thanks all
I did think immediately after posting that it was perhaps a bit of a ‘blonde moment’!!
However, I just couldn’t get over how pointless imho the body coloured sunroof is!
I want the sunroof and hate the contrast look - a fairly safe bet to say my T will therefore be black!
Also likely solid black as per my GT4!

Sleep on it. You don't need that sunroof, you'll never use it. It is purist to not have it. I did think immediately after posting that it was perhaps a bit of a ‘blonde moment’!!

Then get one of these for the rare moment you wish you had.

Hi, congratulations on the allocation ... it seems that although the T gets sports exhaust as standard apparently you don't get the dedicated switch unless you specify the silver exhaust tips. You get two assignable switches as standard though, so you can assign one of those to control the exhaust or you can also control it through the screen.
Thanks Andy for the info re dedicated exhaust switch. Playing about with configurator I can see the diamond disappear when you add the silver tips. Is this where you learn't this little gem of information. The reason I ask is my Porsche Centre have said all T's will come with the dedicated exhaust switch which is my spec. so not sure if it's a rendering bug on the configurator or my dealer has got it wrong. On the Rennlist T thread, someone posted that they had confirmed this with the US product lead who was visiting a dealership. Based on this I checked with the way it was rendered on the configurator. It would seem to be too much of a coincidence if this was not by design. Also the base Carrera has two diamond buttons as standard so I wonder if this would also simplify production. OPCs I’ve talked with are not really sure on the detailed specification.
