Anyone for ‘T’
Discussion
Declined my offered T slot for May.
I reckon it’s circa 40k for changing my 991 t when including reg costs and 5k depreciation for something that would still be a similar spec - rear seats and pdk.
Funnily I’ve had more contact from OPC since declining than I have in 18months waiting for a c2. Seems they have time for us at the bottom of the porsche food chain again, but it’s still a polite no for the pts cayenne you can’t shift..

Good move, there is not enough theatre and drama diff to move from 991T to 992T at £40k(?!)I reckon it’s circa 40k for changing my 991 t when including reg costs and 5k depreciation for something that would still be a similar spec - rear seats and pdk.

Let other people enjoy the experience…

3 years and 20-30k miles from new dealers are selling for ‘£5k less than new price.
It used to be simple that pretty much all new cars depreciate, the pandemic changed that, whilst the recession and interest rate hikes will do again.
That said I think you’d loose less over a year on a lightly spec’d T than on a na early new GTS for 35-40k more.
I also have a deposit in (from early last year for a 4GTS too) but the prices of these are also dropping. I can't see these being sold back at list by the time I got one either? or is there more hope with a 4GTS (maybe summer)It used to be simple that pretty much all new cars depreciate, the pandemic changed that, whilst the recession and interest rate hikes will do again.

Main aim is to get a 992.2 without having lost any cash on any purchase before that from the dealer.. think I am being too optomistic now that rates have gone up?
991Ts seem to have held well only around £5K price less at dealers than list. But if you look at the trade price, they are around £60-65K so overall it would seem that you are still looking at 30% depreciation on base list over three years. So it would seem that the market is starting to re-adjust after recent years.

The 991T was 15k cheaper to buy though....bennno said:

The 991T was 85 list? So trade now at 60-65 for a 3 year old is pretty good. With the current market and low volumes of new / nearly new 911s, I don't see the 992T being a free motoring car unless you can sell privately and someone really wants your colour & spec. Selling to a dealer, they might make close to list but they will want a margin.andywalton said:

Was also offered new m2, but discounted that.

I don’t disagree, although they’ve made next to no c2 cars for 12-18 months.

Have you definitely got a Spyder build? If you have then you could always negotiate now on the T purchase and sell back. Get the DP to sign to buy at a guaranteed price when the Spyder comes. In the last 12 months there have been over 3,200 DVLA registrations of the 911 ... and yes there were more GT3s registered than base Carreras

I got offered more than that. Most 991T’s were specced to 90k plus or more, so it is 30% depreciation, granted they’ll be coming up on 5 years old now…
Apart from perhaps GT cars people need to get depreciation free motoring out of their heads.
Gullible customers are part of the hype situation creating the unsustainable!
