I've seen other people on here saying OPC's are banned from selling cars at a premium to list whilst they're still in production. Didn't GT4's have to be removed from websites because of this ?
From what I've been told by my OPC Prosche GB do care. As with all these things each OPC is different though.
I can assure you Porsche GB don't care, I've literally been speaking to them daily for the last 6 months after been banned from local OPC (THATS RIGHT, BANNED!!)From what I've been told by my OPC Prosche GB do care. As with all these things each OPC is different though.
And with regards to not been able advertising on Porsche approved (Porsche Germany instructions), doesn't stop 'deals' been done.

OPC's can't advertise the car within Porsche Network for above list price whilst the car is still in production is what I've been told previously. That doesn't mean they couldn't broker a deal via SOR or similar out of the public eye though. From what I've been told by my OPC Prosche GB do care. Shocking! Wish the owners would just drive them instead!
Bad for business though. My GT4 is 2 years old next month and owned since new (cant be many examples left with 0 previous owners) - I am the worst sort of customer in the eyes of my local OPC, especially as I refused to flip it back the dealership when asked to by the OPC (prior to delivery).
Best 'legal' way to get an allocation for a GT2/3 is to do a deal with a classic Porsche as p/x - far greater margins in the classics for the OPC to make money on.

Long story short.... for questioning the allocation process and unethical behaviour because of what I know! I had a £10k deposit down on the 991.2 GT3 and was unsuccessful. Now banned from 4 x OPC (one franchise) for daring to question the process.
Clearly a man who doesn't back down and sticks to his guns. Fair play to you but getting banned from four OPC's is no mean achievement! How far do you have to go to get your GT4 serviced ?! n17ves said:

You are correct in saying OPC's are behind a lot of the flipping, they have enough people ringing to not need to advertise the GT cars, even if porsche would allow them to advertise.Your position re a new GT3 was never going to happen, one used and one new car isn't enough !

That's lovely Tony... In fact, that looks about £200k's worth to me Flipping will always happen, look at Rolex with the latest Daytona for example, same situation with almost double list for a used one. I didn't get one so bought a submariner date instead. Love it.
It causes threads like this which is a great bit of marketing for Porsche. They know what they're doing and they'll never make the halo cars in normal production volumes.
GTS anyone?

Given you are already aware of the above, why then do you actually think the OPC should give you an allocation of the car over one of their other more profitable customers? Don't even want to think how much of a monumental titwangle you must have been to get banned from a fking car dealership. FOUR fking dealerships.

Not receieving an allocation isn’t actually what bothers me, it’s been sat next to another customer gloating about flipping a GT3, GT4 and GT3 RS straight back to the dealership with delivery miles.
Yes sadly the Porsche "enthusiast " has changes from years ago , money is the new king ....... I may never be able to buy another new GT porsche ...... who cares , I relish the heritage not the Brand ... hence of to race my GT3 RS at Daytona over the weekend , hope it goes well .
Yes I will "lose" a lot of money but life is too short to worry about "overs " ..

Some companies own more than one dealership, maybe he pissed off the dealer so they got him banned from all company owned dealerships.n17ves said:
Firstly because I’m not flipping the car straight back, secondly I’m a genuine enthusiast that will hopefully be buying Porsche’s for the next 30+ years, and thirdly I was invited to place a deposit on the day of launch (followed up with an invite to Geneva).

You do realise flipping the car back actually makes the OPC plenty of profit I take it. And they probably have 20+ other customers who will or have been buying multiple cars for the next 30 years..... Getting hung up over not getting an allocation 'because I'm worth it' never fails to be quite entertaining tbh.

I had a chat with my OPC about allocations and the salesman acknowledged that I was a potential credible buyer (2 Caymans, 4 911s) but pointed out, perfectly accurately, that I'd chosen to source them from a variety of dealers in order to secure the best trade-in deals. To the local OPC I was a 2 Porsche buyer, not a serial sixer. Must try harder.Getting hung up over not getting an allocation 'because I'm worth it' never fails to be quite entertaining tbh.

agreed. buy a turbo 993 or something and sell it to your opc @ £100,000 less than market value in exchange for a spot on the listGassing Station | 911/Carrera GT | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
