High miler GT3’s
Discussion
I’m bored of seeing all these very low miles GT3’s for sale (997’s and 991’s) where people have wrapped them in cotton wool and just looking to make a buck.
Where are all the high milers for sale?
Where are the track used cars that have been looked after too but don’t cost a fortune to buy and are still fun to drive without the worry...
I’d happily buy a high mile 997.2 RS for the same money you could buy a low mile 991.1 non RS, or a high mile 997.1 RS for the same money you can buy a 997.2 non RS but how to find them?
Ideas on a blank cheque please!

Hi Cuda, it would seem you are looking at a multitude of options. How open-minded are you???
Very open minded - especially when it comes to cars. What do you have in mind? A white 7.1RS with a 7.2 wing?

The quest for a cheaper and therefore usable GT3! Id put a wanted ad on the 'GT3 Avoidance thread' as all the ones on there are perfectly devalued but probably in most cases good value for money for what you want.Where are the track used cars that have been looked after too but don’t cost a fortune to buy and are still fun to drive without the worry...
Be aware that there are many low mile GT3's which arrive and depart the track on a trailer and sometimes need a trailer to depart to err, fix the stonechips....

If you are looking for a track car, a 996 cup or a 997 cup with a paddle conversion(unless you have some experience driving 997 cups) would be a much faster and more economical option. If you still want a road car, I’d revise my spec down from an RS to a CS. There will be a big saving in cost against a negligible gain in performance. Generally it’s less than a second a lap and you can find a lot more than that with some relatively inexpensive mods. A cooking GT3 is already 95% of the way to being an RS anyway.
Your best bets are
1. Cup car as above ( see my thread about running a 997 cup for costs)
2. 997 gen 1 C/S or modified 996 GT3. These will offer the best track speed per £ return and can be easily and cheaply modified to exceed the pace of a standard 997 RS of either generation.
