Which Expansion Tank for E46?

Hi All,

I'm going to replace the header tank on my 325ti as I think it maybe starting to leak and seeing as its a known weak point I want to change it anyway.

Question is as theres varying prices is there any make considered best or one to avoid? Looking at either a Meyle unit from ebay for £30 odd or one from euros which I think is Hella for £40 something..

Hella is fine. I think they’re probably made in China but last well.

I'd only use a genuine BMW tank. They aren't dear really for something that will last 10-15 years. Based on experience with Hella radiators, I'd rather use a Tescos carrier bag tbh. A lot of 'good brand name' stuff is Chinese shyte.

Meyle are probably okay, but...........

I fitted an own label cheapy from a well known motorfactor.

The one i took out that had cracked was also from the same company- albeit fitted by the previous owner.

It failed after 6 months.

Fitted OEM no issues 2 years on
