Hi All,

I was going to have the GT2 protected and have never had PPF done. May I ask a few questions:
1) Do Porsche Reading do a good job with PPF or should I use Topaz?

2) Is Xpel Ultimate the best PPF for this car?

3) I was going to PPF the entire car because of the carbon and potential damage of the carbon. Is this a wise move?

4) Any other advice on PPF?

Thank you

You doing full PPF?

Are Porsche sending it there or you driving it?

Used both in the last 2 years.. Porsche Reading did the better job for me. They only do a few cars a week so spend a lot more time on the cars. Also they are trained by XPEL themselves. They even replace the factory stone guards on top of the film and remove all badges and put new ones on after. More competitive on price too. Had a brand new Turbo S and GT3 done before Christmas.

XPEL and Suntech and the two brands to want. I believe XPEL is slightly more advanced.

Problem with PPF is that it hides everything bad on your bodywork, so best take it to somewhere like Minutia Detailing or similar.
If ppf hides everything bad on bodywork, why bother getting a multi stage machine polish done on the car before it? It's detail or ppf imo. Ppf after detail just defeats the purpose.

PPF doesn't hide everything!! In certain instances, it actually emphasizes paint defects/chips!

Paintshield also worth considering. I’ll be using them to protect mine when it arrives over the next few weeks. They have my GT3 with them now.

I’ve had numerous cars done by them and Topaz. Never had an issue with any vehicle wrapped by Paintshield but have had corners lift on a few Topaz wrapped cars now.

Topaz have always sent someone out to me to rectify though so can’t fault the level of service.

If it was me I’d have the paintwork detailed first then PPF applied on top.

Worth making sure your dealer doesn’t do any paintwork prep in the vehicle before hand especially applying any sealants/waxes etc as these can affect the PPF application.

I requested a full machine polish prior to the film going down, I was even sent step by step picture updates over the 4 days of work. The normal process for Porsche GB is a spot machine for any imperfections. At request and a price of a few hundred pounds they will go the extra mile for people like ourselves. They did however throw this in after my dealer made the suggestion.
