I know someone who paid the deposit on one last week. Was given no choice on spec either. White/silver with heritage pack.
I love it .

Do you mean the OPC basically said we want to sell a heritage pack car only, so you can have one if you're prepared to do that, otherwise we'll find someone else ??
Plus don't forget there's a watch..........

Not a huge surprise given the front half of a 991/981 is shared bar some cosmetics. I believe the Speedster uses the 981 windscreen and rails etc, so, it's going to have a very similar look and proportions. Just a bit more expensive.

You're paying a lot for that engine, that's for sure!

It is a very expensive special and the design cues aren't that original eeklaugh

Looking at the many shut lines on the Speedster's rear especially the 2 fugly patches on the streamliners I think Porsche designers did a cleaner job on the 981's bespoke rear end

Just looked at the configurator....if I was ordering one it would have to have the Heritage pack.

just specced one for fun - 282k Euros ... pricey, other cars I'd rather buy at that price point

and that price is without the imo challenging looking Heritage package - with it the price exceeds 300k Euros

Annoying fact, you can't spec the black brake calipers or Cognac interior (only as part of the Heritage pack)

looks good though

EDIT: Just realised somebody specced the same as me and posted on previous page

I think I might agree as it's actually growing on me, quite a few nice details if you're into that sort of thing although not exactly a cheap option.
Question is would you go standard lights or LED, I think the LED lights in black spoil the overall 'heritage' look ??

Does anyone think the list price is actually reasonable for what it is, ignoring any investment potential ??
They do seem to have put quite a bit of effort into making this one a bit more special, I've read a lot of money went into the carbon roof and panels, windscreen rake change, and a special strengthening beam behind the seats.
Add to that the GT3 engine with mods and the rest of the GT division work on the car, and all mostly spread over less than 2000 units, maybe it's actually not so far out ??
Granted it's still a serious amount of money for a 911 convertible, no denying that.

I think it is quite expensive, could get a 720s or an 812 for similar Money - both in their own way very special cars (one more advanced construction, the other arguably more special engine) or a GT2RS. Happy for Porsche though, they have positioned their cars very well to probably make a decent amount of money on them. Also the R and D investment - to a degree - will probably trickle down/be amortized over future models as well I suspect.

Its a beautiful car. I would happily pay £211k plus options for one if I was offered slot.... even if I was going to keep it and not capitalise on the possible £250,000 profit

I think it's USP is being able to hear that engine on full song topless in the wild!

Right colour toosmile Not sure I could justify double the price of my own GR GT3 just for a little extra aircon!

I'm getting to quite like it...its very much a grower once you set aside any preconceived expectations..Chatting to my SA today when asked my opinion on the Speedster, i replied by saying i'd much prefer the 981 Spyder and 991.2GT3 for less money than the Speedster. I currently own both those cars and they cost me about the same as a bare bones Speedster..

Taffy. Would you swap. I’ve got a Touring and 987 Spyder, which I love. These two together might get me £170k from an OPC. I’d have to put another £70k into that to get a Speedster. If they called tomorrow would you do it?

That's an interesting alternative, Taffy. Of course, Speedster money opens up all kinds of possibilities. Still, very compelling as first time we've seen a GT3 convertible.

Its so easy to talk hypothetically about these things..However if it was reality and my SA phoned me up offering a Speedster then my fiscal sense would probably take over and i'd greedily accept..
As i was so fortunate to secure an RS i wasn't even thinking about the Speedster..I'll probably try and get a new 718GT4 or Spyder which will complement my RS better than a Speedster.
Incidentally i'm no where near rich enough to be able to buy both an RS WP and Speedster so its a moot point anyway..
