Fair play to you...and I think this is it...If you play the game hard enough and get the likes of the Turbo Exclusive and and a GT3 RS.....its not even a zero sum game you can come out "on top". If you buy say two or three cars over a two year period you're a good customer but nothing special and may or may not get on the GT list.
However it’s still a gamble , at least buying at overs you know your exposure and you can decide if it’s acceptable to you - the other way could lead to nothing but a waste of £, time and effort. The whole thing is a mess IMHO - I wish we could simply all order what we want, loose £ and be done with it - but I guess I’m just an old romantic fool
From what i understand the dealers selling the "volume premium brands" i.e. Merc,BMW and Audi are struggling for sales at the moment....maybe Porsche are feeling it to with the 718...and I also suspect 911's are not selling as well as your average OPC would have you believe. It's been relatively easy to get hold of new 991.2 GTS's and also cars like the T we've been told we're sold out are appearing at OPC's as delivery mileage and certainly one OPC I popped into a couple of weeks ago still had a couple of T's looking for a home.

4 years ago I had no relationship with my OPC. I brought a new Macan every 3-4 months (making sure I sold the old one back to them) and soon got offered a GT car. That’s the best way but not cheap.
So the question is. Do you buy and flip per the above to get in to a GT or just pay the overs? Be interesting to understand the cost of your flipping exercise vs just waiting and paying overs.Guess the beauty of being the first owner, cost aside, is first name on the log book and your spec.
The main thing to say is over the years I have done my bks on cars. (I am massively down) I have no interest in making money. Since I was 5 I have loved cars and just wanted to drive them. My wife would be much happier if I had never brought any. All speculators do is stop people like us getting the cars we want!

possibly, with the gt2 @ £600-700k I can see why people are incentivized to buy more crappy base models from porsche in hope
interesting they are £300k now, deffo wasn't worth paying overs in this instanceIt’s silly to raise this again. We all know the “game”, right now it’s gone completely bonkers with no used stock, incredible demand for new allocations on any car…. Therefore dealers have it so easy, name out of a hat (only the best customers in that hat) and still guaranteed buy back.
When I bought the 992 C4S, order placed in August last year and I was on for a Turbo S before placing it, no previous purchase history except a Macan Turbo order the month before ….. “you need previous history to get a GT OR TURBO allocation at the moment”
It’s not just GT cars, even the C4S took 6 months.
