I wouldn't normally open it up this far out from a predicted 20oC, but I think we all need this!

Signs for a warm start to April persist... This is April 10th.

These were taken on Bournemouth (well Boscombe) beach, late-morning on April 7th last year- we were down there for the whole weekend and it felt like July, temp was well into the 20s and the beaches were packed. It felt quite surreal walking around a packed UK beach, in shorts and t-shirt, at the start of April! yikes

If we can get the same again this year that would be great thank you! thumbup

Edited for date correction- pictures were taken on 7th, was still like this on the 10th though! biggrin

Back again! Distinct lack of reverse psychology compared to the last thread. wink

I'm excited for summer now, especially as the clocks have changed.

I'm in. I've enjoyed watching the carnage of this winter but I'm keen to see if we have a good summer off the back of it.

If we don't get a decent summer, OP is heading for a ban!

Yes

Please change the title to "The disappointing temperatures, rain, rain and more rain, with the occasional 5 mins of sun thread"

After all the thread title change to the winter one worked a treat!

And where did I promise a decent summer? I promised a period called summer, with with some thunder tongue out

Hedgerows are showing some nascent leaves - but trees always wait until April normally?

It's 2 weeks away - this chart is showing a trend, and that is all!

Mind you, it would still be worth leaving Scotland for the South wink

RIGHT!! That’s it. Got the open top car < 2 weeks ago, now off to quickly buy a boat while she is in Glasgow.

Puggit, as asked on the winter thread, can I send my missus round to “talk this through with you” in November when this forecast has gone tits up all year and we (or according to her, I) have wasted many thousands of pounds? smile

You know it will be all your fault don’t you? I will make sure of it and you will wind up with a blowdart in your arse instead of me getting one smile

We're still waiting for the daffs to come out!

(Wills2 will be along shortly to say that's because we haven't got any soil as the wind has blown it all away). rolleyes

Did see these cuties at the weekend though. I bet they were a bit chilly the weekend before!

Summer? I loathe this time of year.

Bloody wasps, screaming kids everywhere, fat idiots with no shirts on as soon the temperature hits the giddy heights of 15c, fking fair weather drinkers outside the pub so you can’t get a seat if you’re a smoker, cretins in crappy Audi A3s (normally) sharing their dubious ‘taste’ in music with everyone inside a 1 mile radius, people with an IQ that barely exceeds the ambient temperature going on and on about “it’s lovely outside”, mosquitoes, flies, barbeques (yeah, I’d love to come and catch botulism in your garden whilst your ill-mannered brats scream and shout), more wasps, fat bloaty women with vast patches of sunburn wobbling around in inadvisable choices of clothing, festivals, smelly wheelie bins, Wimbledon, horrible close humid nights when you can't sleep as the air feels like soup, hearing 'In the Summertime' by Mungo Jerry or that twice-treble damned 'Alright' song by Supergrass constantly, wasps, constantly being pressured to 'do something outside as it's a nice day' (I'll stay inside, in a nice dim room, with a book and a decent single malt away from everyone, thanks), people blathering on about their epic summer holiday in Majorca, getting stuck in traffic on boiling hot days with no air conditioning in your car, heat in general, the endless, endless comments about heat waves and "it's another summer of 1976"...

No, no and no. I care not one jot for your summer!

Winter is coming.

I'm with you on loathing wasps. However last year there seemed to be pretty few of them, and those that were around seemed rather slow and dopey. I found that rather concerning actually... hopefully this year they are back to their normal hateful selves
