Hi,

I'm thinking of moving from an M4 CP to an M3 CP as I require the practicality of four doors. The good news is that new M3s are available on 0% finance with reasonable discounts. The bad news is that they've stopped making them so I can't order one to my own specification.

Aside from calling a number of different dealerships in a number of different groups and checking what they've got in stock or got coming across their group, does anyone know of a way to easily understand where these unregistered cars are so I can work out which dealers have my preferred interior and exterior colours? I can't think of anywhere that they are advertised in one place.

All help gratefully appreciated before I start hares running with about fifteen different dealerships.

I’m in the same boat. Been keeping an eye on the market for 6 weeks. My car hopefully sold this weekend so looking to commit next week.

I spoke to a dealer two weeks ago. He could see all the physical stock on the ground in the whole network. I was only interested in individual colours

Rivieira, Mexico, Daytona violet, purple silk, Ferrari red, San Marino, Nardo all out there. Some ok spec too. Plenty of white, black and silver cars. Dct and manual

So find a dealer you think will get you good discount and start from there. I’m using car wow too as had some good offers. 8k off a new one.

Don’t discount high spec pre reg if you can get 3.9%

Run the numbers, and do the man maths!

So can every dealer see every new car coming into the UK regardless of which dealer it’s bound for?

I don't know, for sure, but if they could, wouldn't that mean BMW UK aka Customer services could too?

Their role is to help and would make more sense they'd release info, rather than a sales exec, say, at Sytner telling you what cars a rival dealership/s had coming in.

Call them, or could you try to buy M3 CP online and when you 'fail,' get chatting to live-help that seems to pop up.

Not sure this was Douglas Park in Glasgow. Salesman was able to see stock. That’s where I got the info from. As I mentioned use car wow or another similar site. Gives a good view of what’s out there

I would 2nd Douglas Park (I deal with Hamilton) they're very good at searching the BMW stock within the country. They also trade between non Douglas Park dealers frequently I believe.

I believe dealers can see all stock in or coming into the country, and can also access it as as long as it is unsold and provided they can arrange an appropriate stock swap with another dealer in the network.

Have had dealers arrange this for me on a couple of Mercedes in the past to get the spec I wanted.

You generally have to commit to the order pretty quickly though as cars are ‘held’ for a limited period (24 or 48 hours) before being released back into stock.

I imagine BMW will have a similar system but happy to be corrected.

Whether all dealers are willing to go to the trouble might be a different question.

What discounts are people achieving on these? I’m up to 9k on an in stock car which is in the showroom

I’ve looked at pre-reg but once you add on the interest element there appears to be little in it.

I’m looking to buy one in the next few weeks / month. Just want to get the best deal!

Yes, although some will prefer to sell you something they already have in their own dealer network if your dealer is part of a group.

Myself and a friend did a deal with the supplying dealership to buy two CP’s which are due late June and managed to get 13.5% discount plus obviously the 0% finance

I've managed to squeeze a fraction over £9300 which is 13.6%. I'd like to get to £10k off but I think I'm going to struggle. Sounds like you both did very well!

For Info - Douglas Park have a Melbourne red (special colour) black interior with the usual must have options (H&K, HUD, Rear camera etc.) if you're still looking.

Is this on M3 CPs or M4s? Mind PM-ing/sharing the dealership?

Thanks!
