My wife's just started a new job and her office has no mobile signal unless you're on EE. At the moment she's with Vodafone.

I'd expect when she leaves the office that her iPhone would pick up a data signal as soon as possible. It doesn't and has no data connectivity until she gets home and picks up our wifi. Calls work fine. If she then switches off wifi on her phone it will not reconnect to mobile data. Switching on and off mobile data does not work. Switching on and off airplane mode does not work. The only thing that works is a reboot.

Is there something we're missing in the settings? She's no tech wizard and I've only ever had Android phones. It's an iPhone 8 with whatever the latest version of iOS is.

Have you tried: settings - mobile data - mobile data options - check data roaming is on.

I do get this a lot with my 7plus, if it’s had no signal for a long time it will not reconnect.

Check to see if WiFi calling is enabled as this helps.

Will check with data roaming on Tuesday. WiFi calling apparently needs to be applied by Vodafone

Thanks

I have it with Vodafone but can’t remember if it needs enabling.

I've got this problem with my iPhone 4S. If it loses signal the only way to get it back is a reboot. This is a particular issue for me as the power button no longer works so I can only switch it off via Assistive Touch and then there's no way to turn it on again unless I have a power source to plug it into. It really needs a "reboot" option in the software.
