Morning chaps,

Well, the good news is a deposit has been left on my exige and should bd gone next week.i have 2 cars on my radar, an orange 420r at caterham south and this r400 at chapmans (as was).

How does the price look on the r400, its perfect regarding colour, spec etc. My only concern is the milage?? In cat terms is this regarded as high, its the only thing thats putting me off.

Off to view as soon as i can possibly get, but any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thankyou.

For a nearly 8 year old car the mileage is about right. 3k a year is about average usage for a 7. Some obviously do more (if touring) and others less. Mine is on 13k after 11 years. Work, children etc all mean I struggle to use it enough.

The car at G & P is certainly a high spec. I note the 620 nosecone. As a recent fitment I presume the car has had a new paint job.

It does look stunning.

This sort of mileage shows it has been used regularly, rather than sitting in a garage. When unused for longer periods and stored, things tend to go wrong.

I know the car. It was owned by a Caterham enthusiast and is immaculate. Send me a message if you want more details

That r400 was immaculate, i couldnt find a single mark on it . It drove so much better than the 420r i tested at caterham south.

So much so, its coming up north next thursday. My first caterham and im rather excited.

I must say Chapmans as was (Gravely and Paine) are a class outfit. Nothing but good words for them.. absolute pleasure to deal with.

That's as may be but trust me - if you use a Seven enough to do the sort of miles that most people say a Seven should be used for the price plummets . I found this out . Twice. But no matter , it's better to have fun than to save money by owning one but not using it . I cannot believe why people buy a car like this and after a decade it's not even run in properly . (see also most supercars, let alone hypercars )
