Hi all.

Offside flexi pipe split on the muffler and in need of replacement.

Any recommendations at all?

Happy with stock sound and not lookin for performance gains but happy to look at all options. 3.4 tiptronic if it makes any difference, looking at backbox only but happy to replace more if justified and not a crazy price.

Thanks

Smollet

I've just bought a pair of Topgear stainless steel sports sound boxes (& a 200 cell X-pipe) - well made & come with all the relevant replacement clamps which is very useful (& saves a few £s), as well as being a British company - if you pop over to 911uk you can get a forum discount as the manufacturer is active on there. YouTube is your friend on the sound of them.

And beware the manifold bolts - probably 12 rusty blobs that can be a nightmare to get out. Factor in some extra labour if having done at a garage. 1 hour per bolt a rough guide for drilling and re tapping.

Do you have them on the car yet? My 3.6 has had them on for about a month now. I went for the 200 cell X-pipe coupled with the switchable boxes as I had a factory PSE to replace. The car sounds quite different. Louder overall but some of the deeper tones have gone and there's a higher pitch to it.

Yep, sports boxes/ 200 cell X pipe standard diameter piped cats on the car now, though not driven it yet as there's been a touch of OCD doing other bits whilst I had the car off the ground! I understand the 3.6 gives a different tone to the 3.4, though neither will be as loud/obnoxious as the by-pass pipes I was running on it biggrin - they did rob the car of some torque which I suspect was due to a lack of back pressure, though people didn't tailgate me more than once given how loud it was.

Are they Dansk flexis, by any chance? Well know for not lasting long (and then Dansk wash their hands of it).
