I've just tried to make head or tail from 'How many left' to find out how many 991.2 GT3s were registered in the UK..Its not straight forward, however it seems to be between 307 and 391..Can someone more intelligent pop over to see what's what..?
Apparently there are 124 991.2 GT3 RSs and 128 991.2 GT2 RSs..
The number of GT3s seem a lot less than the much bandied 500 cars which bodes well for prices next spring..If true it surprises me how many owners have sold or have their GT3s for sale.
I'm rather tempted to start a poll to see how many of us who got a new GT3 allocation are still driving them..

I use mine :-), if I sold it, I would loose much more on it's replacement.

The point is I am not ready to give up manual NA engine cars just yet, so it's this or a MX5 lol

Actually the new MX5 2.0 with 185HP and £22K price tag is a hell of an achievement and ultimately offers as much poke you can realistically use on UK roads..Its also tiny compared to modern Porsches which makes it suitable for threading down narrow B roads..I like it a lot..

Talk to a few guys in Germany and the 992 GT3 coming with turbo is definitely not ruled out . Meeting emission rules is proving hard work for P with the GT3...

Personally i'm OK with a turbo GT3 as i love torque in a road going sportscar. If it goes turbo, knowing Porsche it will be predictably brilliant.

I'm at a point where I don't care about the engine... Porsche always make a better car, so that's good.

I just find the whole wanting a new GT car experience an anxious one, and don't enjoy it. It's stressful (poor me I know).

My new view is to wait for prices to settle to what I think they are worth and then when I can afford one, I'll get one.

Yep, I feel for the like of you.

It’s catch 22 situation. When all the GT3 stock is cleared next summer will be upon us and then they may rise, a bit, or, certainly stabilise.

I can never see a big crash, it’s just too good of product,,, jmo...

If those build numbers are correct then we could see cars like a 991 Targa GTS 4 with a manual gearbox being the rarest of the rare (and being priced accordingly) !

I doubt demand would be so high that a real premium could be attached to such a car. Just because it's rare it doesn't mean it's desirable.

I know what you mean and I agree to a certain extent but this is the Porsche market we are talking about remember. People pay silly money for rare cars.

I would not be suprised to hear in 10 years time that the 991.1 RWD Carrera S is the last of the last NA Porsche engines and are worth a truck of gold bricks!

100%, that will be the case, even with the base model. You can guarantee some dudes have these in their lock ups for long time future investment. N/A’s are dwindling, we all know that..

I also place my self in the 'enthusiast wishing to purchase and drive it category', and money hopefully sorted on the mortgage increase v soon ;-), Im now getting actually worried about slappingit down (!!) on the salesperson's desk and taking away a car!

Yes its now a' market price' as mentioned above but as so many have said; a distorted and controlled one... Its a closed shop and you only get to buy a new car if you hand back the old one , which they once again sell, but at a much inflated price to new and make more on the second hand car, than the initial sale....

Strategies to fix it:

A petition of current porsche owners, sent to porsche UK outlining this conduct !

Perhaps lobby motoring groups for support such as the AA ?

Trading standards ( probably talking cobblers), as its just immorality..?

Shame Porsche GB publically ? ( winging on here forums only has the reverse effect)

Protest at motoring events ?

Protesting outside OPC's ? A good excuse for a meet up of owners who have bought at overs ...?

Question is , should we be careful what we wish for ? would many of us shall out that cash if we thought it would shed a load of value , perhaps not... Anyone can say they would but at list if they know its going up....

I was going to buy a 2005 GT3 in 2007 , test drove it, got it up on a ramp, and the engineer told me that it had had 3 new corners... They vendor stood next to me and lied that it had never been smashed up....

Thing is id have bought a depreciating asset, but enjoyed it...

If my remortgage comes through I will be expecting to pay list or only slightly more, but will wait til the ski season kicks in to buy....

Remortgage to buy a car... you must be mad especially in the current falling market.

Think hard before you commit is my advice, any doubts don’t buy even if it looks like a bargain.

I am now feeling rather glad I sold my GTS and have been sitting on the cash, market is well over priced and due a correction.
