Engine start issue

Hi all, I have a 2007 997 C2, recently when I put my foot on the brake in park ( tiptronic ) nothing happens. Just a bit of a ‘ faint whirring noise ‘ from the dash/binnacle area. I then have to put the shift into neutral... then she will turn over & start no problem. Any ideas. Cheers.

My 996 did something similar a while back. It was the linkages etc underneath needing a clean, after that it started fine in Park and also the lever was a lot easier and smoother to move between positions.
