Sadly that looks a lot like his black 991.2 GT3 Touring.

The BBC report confirms all involved were unhurt. It looks from the BBC pic as though there's a sharp bend at the back of the photo....place your bets on a u-turn by the sharp bend for the pickup truck scratchchin

SMH!

… And I wanted to buy that car as well.

Cruel irony maybe…

Believe so. Very sad but surely not a write-off. He knows that area particularly well so unlikely to be him in the wrong. Then again, they say you should be particularly careful closest to home wink

Judging by the photo (I assume the pick up truck is the one pictured behind his car) it happened very close to a blind bend so if the truck was doing a three point turn there you'd have to question that.

Most important thing is that all concerned are okay obviously.

Allegedly his passenger was a senior Top Gear executive who had just told Chris who would be presenting the new series wink

I know a local salvage guy who has a contract with some big insurance companies and it doesn't take much to write a car off..There is every chance CH's wrecked Touring will be bought and repaired and back on the road in no time at all..In fact Chris himself could buy it back and use only a proportion of his insurance payout and pocket the rest.
This is a common legit and acceptable practice in the industry..

I saw Chris' post on Twitter saying he wasn't the person who ended up in trouble over the crash. Doesn't look like a great place to do a U-turn in the road!

Doubt he will have it back. I noticed that the one at £215K at the crooked OPC i used to use suddenly disappeared yesterday. Replacement for Harris?

Good news. I am guessing that if the truck moved across into Harris's path, rather than already being there when he came around hte corner, it is a very different situation. Anyway, whatever:

Police confirmed speed wasn’t a factor. And I wasn’t the one issued a penalty notice.

Police confirmed speed wasn't an issue. And he would not be getting any penalty points. The pick up driver however....

I remember reading on rennlist a while back that the cars never quite perform the same after they have had a significant crash due to the high level of calibration on these cars, so its unlikely he will keep it
