That's good to know - saves a bit. I haven't locked down my spec yet, but it will be something along the lines of http://www.porsche-code.com/PLMDYLB1.
That blue with the truffle brown interior looks very classy.

Think your exterior/interior will look good...if it's to be a daily ditch the privacy glass ( far too dull against dark blue) and add a rear wiper . Good luck with the car.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

Living in Scotland, the sunroof is a bit of an oxymoron... I've never really liked them - far rather have a full convertible. The Targa might tempt me, but how often am I really going to get the roof off?

Rear wiper/privacy I'm entirely undecided about.

Exhaust is really down to having the Sports setup. I quite like the chrome finish with the blue. Agree though that it's odd having two for the Sports and four for the standard.

Brown interior is requiring a small brave pill. But I think it works especially well with the Blue.

I got a 991.1 with sunroof, second hand as couldn't get a .2 based on the other elements of spec i wanted and factory shut down. I would not have specced it myself, but in fairness have had the roof open a lot this summer, NE England and a couple of runs up to the western highlands, its very pleasant indeed.

Still not sure i'd spec one from new though.

Sports Chrono adds the round toggle switch integrated into the steering wheel to change driving modes...without this you need to use PCM to do it. In Sport or Sport Plus the exhaust will likely make more noise on the overrun because that’s what the current cars do but we don’t know yet. In my opinion it’s a must have because of the driving modes being easily accessible...those modes will change things like suspension set up and sharpness of throttle etc.

Sports Exhaust will be slightly louder and switchable so can sound standard or a bit noisier....will activate automatically in Sport/Sport Plus driving modes. We’re yet to hear what the 992 will sound like so may not make a massive difference. Not as much of a “must have” as SC for me.
There is a sound button on the configurator, my guess is that is the noise without SE, as there's no noticeable difference between having it added and not.

Interesting comment from the dealer today that the factory now offer PPF for the front bumper, wings, bonne, sills and mirrors at significantly less cost than aftermarket and of course without the hassle of getting the car to a detailer after PDI.

Will they prep the paint as well as a detailer though?

They seem to have played about with the configurator, as there’s some models been cleaned out, but the GTS is still there with updated colour options etc. Bit odd.

I drove 2 991.2 GTS's. 1 with glass pan roof and one without. The glass roof car was noticeably less structurally rigid, in a bad way. I'd say unless you really want a glass roof I'd do without.
I did not notice and if the car was to flex as you state the whole roof would smash as glass don't really like bending !

If indeed it was glass it perhaps would shatter,,Instead its Polycarbonate just like the Cayenne's panoramic roof set in a rubber seal which allows for a tiny amount of flex..

interesting, I am unsure the chassis flexes though to a point you can notice when driving, a 993 cocked a wheel back in the day and every car after that states 100% more stiffness ! 8 models on and the cars must be as rigid as Jean-Claude Juncker.

As it's not even a cab and just has a glass panel, it's hard to see that having a neg effect. I did not notice any way, it just makes the cabin open up and is very nice and light in the car.

we have a full pano roof in the Mini again it has made no odds to how it drives over my older JCW.

And GT car's have the roof cut out and a very thin mag one put it which you can press in with your fingers, I think the chassis is ok vs say driving a 308 cab which feels like it bends in half.

The effect the glassroof has on the dynamics of the 991 is virtually impossible to detect driving on roads..Its only when i drove a 991 CS with a glassroof at the PEC i felt the glassroof flexing a bit when cornering at 100%..One of the stiffest cars was the 981 Cayman which at 40000 Nm is 25% stiffer than a 991 Coupe.
I also felt the cage groaning on the 991 GT3 when cornering at 100% on track as the twisting forces were being counteracted by the cage.

In see that the 991 sunroof is set in seals to give it some flex and hence it won’t shatter. Although I’m pretty surprised to hear that is suggested to be polycarbonate. Certainly looks and feels to be glass to me!

Imho- get the glass roof especially if you plan to drive in Europe, nothing better than open air driving. I’d add power steering plus it is v useful parking etc you only feel it low speed. I’d consider the sports seats plus 4 way, I’ve got them on my gts and my wife and I love them v comfy even over long distance. Glass roof making car shake etc I think is a carry over opinion from years past . Just mho.
I think it adds some nice light to the cabin...

Am deferring mine until the Sport Design option is available, it's on the US config and breaks up the huge black plastic guppy look at the front...

I have just been trying to spec my 992 and all prices have disappeared. Message saying refer to your OPC for Pricing.

Why do we think this is?

Price reductions so after Brexit Currency/FX we can still afford to buy them?
Price Increases so after Brexit Currency/FX we will not be able to afford them?
Or a computer glitch?

I am going for reductions :-)
