Big spec! Very nice work. The only thing I'd question is the privacy glass...don't really like it on 911's but always spec it on the family car. Others may question Burmeister and PCCB's but love your enthusiasm... the configurator is a dangerous place. I worked out what I'd added tor the cost of the last four cars I'd specced and wish I hadn't....it's enough to buy a very nice car!
The Burmeister is so expensive but damn does it sound good. It sometimes sounds better than my home hifi which cost many times the Burmeister.I also found out that not all Burmeisters are equal. I have it in my E class and it doesn't sound anywhere near as good, it was a much cheaper option in the MB though so not surprising I suppose.

I didn't ask to see the Aventurine Green - I had made my mind up before going. In hindsight I should have, but I probably subconsciously didn't want to be torn!
My 335D Touring will remain the winter/crap weather/daily driver, so I decided against the 4S and then forced myself to think about what I really needed with the spec of the two wheel drive S.
I think the standard spec is pretty good - initially I ticked the boxes for a lot more, but then deselected a lot of stuff. Adaptive Cruise, Matrix / PDLS Lights / PDCC & Rear Axle Steer / 14 or 18 way seats / Bose or Burmester Audio, all went.
I rationalised that for when I use the car, which will probably be 6-8K miles March - October, I really didn't need the extras.
I may regret it of course if I rack up more miles....
I would seriously rethink the headlights, for the small outlay I think its a must. My 335D Touring will remain the winter/crap weather/daily driver, so I decided against the 4S and then forced myself to think about what I really needed with the spec of the two wheel drive S.

The standard features include "LED main headlights including daytime running lights with 4-point LED spotlights".£699 gets you PDLS Plus and £2054 gets Matrix Beam.
Is there a stark difference?

From what I have read so far the 992 computer, if its enabled with the optional night-vision module, will also illuminate people, animals and other potential risks on the road or next to the road based on movement and other factors.
The 992 computer will then make a decision, I assume within milliseconds, for the driver to 'flash' specific parts of the LED matrix on the lamp which in effect means that the object is highlighted inside the drivers field of vision but will not flash or increase the light intensity for oncoming traffic or other objects, not seen as a risk. The end result should be that you can still have light on these objects and field of view but it will not be as intense because the flash for specific LED lights on the 992's LED Matrix has gone in the direction of the person or animal about to step into your cars path and not in the eyes of the un-witting on-coming Ford Ka pilot.

Looks lovely in that shot doesn’t it - However, I think it’s a highly unrepresentative rendered image of the green - looks more like the 997 colour Meteor Grey to me though
Yes, definitely not a 'real' representation. Meteor or Volcanoe Grey would look great....Deep said:

Hi folks.. just in the middle of speccing a C2S and would appreciate some advice..
There are a couple of items that I can’t decide on... sports exhaust and sports Chrono..
This is my very first 911 and I intend to keep this car forever.. I will probably drive it 6 - 8k in first year and we’ll see after that..
Is the Chrono the only way to get the noise blips? And what else does it provide?
Also, what is the difference with the sports exhaust apart from looks?
Thanks

Sports Chrono adds the round toggle switch integrated into the steering wheel to change driving modes...without this you need to use PCM to do it. In Sport or Sport Plus the exhaust will likely make more noise on the overrun because that’s what the current cars do but we don’t know yet. In my opinion it’s a must have because of the driving modes being easily accessible...those modes will change things like suspension set up and sharpness of throttle etc. There are a couple of items that I can’t decide on... sports exhaust and sports Chrono..

Sports Exhaust will be slightly louder and switchable so can sound standard or a bit noisier....will activate automatically in Sport/Sport Plus driving modes. We’re yet to hear what the 992 will sound like so may not make a massive difference. Not as much of a “must have” as SC for me.

Spending too many hours on the configurator but I’ll only ever do this once so worth it..
Cheers
Here are some new videos from Porsche to whet the appetite further.
So my dealer mailed me to say they were uploading my spec (still a few months to change before it hits build). My latest spec, I wanted SportsTex / Crayon stitching With Sports Seats Plus. I know its not houndstooth cloth, but it looks close-ish (not rwally close at all) and I have never liked full leather.
My OPC mailed back, advising me against this option, as they were “very uncomfortable, but of course its my choice”. Seemed a really strange response.
Anyone else have a view? 1st Porsche, let alone 1st 911, don’t want to regret anything. Recall sitting in a 991.2 Carrera T a few months back with sportstex and really really liking them.

Some sales staff are afraid to see spec's outside of their normal comfort zone and are very slow to realise changes in buying trends. Porsche would not offer Sport Tex if they thought there was no market for it. A lot of buyers are getting bored of leather and looking for something different so you will be fine when you come to sell the car as there will be buyers specifically looking for it. I had a similar situation regarding spec when I bought a 981 Cayman GTS back in late 2014. I spec'ed folding buckets with the GTS interior package as the car was replacing a 987 Cayman R which had the folding buckets. When I traded the car back in the following year the Sales Manager was very nervous about trying to sell the car with what he regarded as the wrong seats. Their demo Cayman GTS was also up for sale at the same time and it had the 14 way electric seats. They sold my car in 4 days and still had their own on sale at least 8 weeks later without any serious interest in it.
I've just had my 991.2 targa 4S trimmed in genuine Porsche houndstooth fabric as used in the 50th anniversary model and the 911R. The quality of workmanship is excellent and it was a considerable saving over the price I was given for a factory order to this spec by Porsche Exclusive.
