People seem to be taking a bit of a bath on GT3 cars

Yes, the Mezger in particular is bullet proof. Rarely do you hear of engines blowing up. There's the well documented issues with some of the non GT water-cooled but even then only a small percentage. Not sure a Porsche can be compared with a Lotus for reliability, Lotus = lots of trouble usually serious!
Oh get over yourself with the lots of trouble usually serious line :-), its just not true from my experience, ran 4 esprits over many years and now 5 Porsches, major failure score is 1 engine in the Esprit, replaced under warranty and 1 gearbox in a 991.1 GT3 again replaced under warranty.FredBasset said:

I just hope the buying power comes back to the buyers. I still own a Porsche and like it very much. But a lot of my friends have purchased other brands instead, as they refuse to play any games. I have asked for a 718 Spyder (can't believe I've had to ask for a car lol) - should it be NA. No hopes, if I don't get one I wont pay overs, I'll just get go to another brand to keep what I have.
I have exactly the same position.I have worked my way through 45 years of interesting cars and ended up in recent years owning more than 20 Porsches ... most of which have been Classic rather than new, and most of which have been purchased and sold privately.
I did buy my first Porsche --- a 924 new from my local dealer in 1978, I have bought four other new Porsches from the same dealer, I don't place orders with lots of other dealers, I have driven and tracked and raced and given close to race pace passenger rides to many people in my GT4 ... and I've had a new one (or RS) on a letter of intent for more than five years. And of course they handle all the routine serving on the cars I've bought from them.
So when I'm now told by my dealer that unless I buy more new cars from them I may not get a new GT4, I think Bo**ocks to that ... there are plenty of other cars and if I simply end up further developing my GT4 I could save a lot of depreciation if the market does reverse.
I took my Yaris GRMN to the last P track day ! (the front pads did last only 86 miles but I didn't need a new set of tyres !) The branding of GT4 was rebels race on ... well I am rebelling !
If Porsche don't value my part in the Porsche journey, then surely they lose as much as me. And if it resonates with others, they may lose a lot more.
I still believe that Porsche are fabulous cars, but I will never prostitute normal principles to drive the new car of my choice. Why should they ask me to ?
They make me feel not worthy ... but who is not worthy ?

I think if everyone stuck to principles like you, Porsche wouldn't be able to play the game they do. They make me feel really st too when they say buy more cars, or your almost feel like your asking for a favour for a car you will drive, track, etc. I ended up thinking fk it, I won't play this game, and I wont lick my dealers arse to put it simply.
Hope you have a good Xmas mate, catch up on a track day next year!

Hey Chris, good to hear from you! I decided not to get a GT4 as I did miss the roof off so hoping 718 Spyder. If not the GTS can be modified as a long term keep or something else. Drove a Radical SR3RSX at Silverstone so if Porsche don't give me a 718 Spyder, Radical will get some money from me.

If you like the Radical then I’d also look at at cars like Juno,Norma,Ligier etc full on race cars with Honda K20 engines and Hewland boxes. Radicals are great fun but very prone to the lifelng on parts. Honda should last a lifetime!I think if everyone stook to principles like you, Porsche wouldn't be able to play the game they do. Very cheap to run and as they are built for endurance racing very reliable and strong in all departments!

I can't speak for GT3's but I know that Porsche Leeds sold a black and a yellow GT4 a couple of weeks ag and could have sold the yellow one twice on the day it sold ...
I might just change direction slightly and have a play with a 992 C2S which could be a very interesting car next to my little '73 2.4S ...
I will then develop my GT4 further ... probably with the Jens Ehresmann upgrade to 425 bhp ... likely in May which will be in Germany.
Yes I'm trying to do most of the PCGB northern track days this year ... Goodwood and Castle Combe are too far

Only 3 991.2 GT3 manuals for sale at OPC now, none have PCCB.I might just change direction slightly and have a play with a 992 C2S which could be a very interesting car next to my little '73 2.4S ...

Yep... have been watching this. The numbers look good - first install happened this week so hope to get some feedback from customers soon. Dunnon intake headers seem the GT4 mod now with the extra bits they claim 100bhp at the wheels over oem !
Will hope that Jens could maybe incorporate something like this into his package... that’d be tasty. Bolt-ons and a tune.
There's 110 GT3s for sale on PH. Only 75 GTRs, which have been in production twice as long.
I'm looking at selling my fleet and getting into one car, would like it to be a 991.1, but I don't like the games being played. Maybe get a series 3 exige for the summer and watch the GT market.

The intake runners build on our existing power adders:
1. Race Headers: our design provides a stronger suction wave than other designs and is necessary for the intake runners to perform optimally.
2. GT3 Muffler Adapter Kit: The stock PSE becomes a restriction above 380whp or so and the car really starts building heat in the cylinder due to the restriction. Our kit also allows you to add cats back to the car so you don’t have to be catless.
3. Cobb Accessport with our pro tune
4. Intake runners/ IPD Plenum/ GT3 TB: The last bit after the above mods are done, adds power where the car needs it and shifts the resonance peaks up as well.
The total package adds 100whp at the rev limiter over stock
and they are testing GT3 version next week
GT4 tune/parts stages:
Bottom is Stock
Middle is Dundon Race Headers+Pro Tune
Top is Dundon Race Headers, Intake Runners, IPD Plenum, GT3 TB, GT3 Muffler Adapter, Pro Tune
