I followed your example and bought a high spec 488 GTB in December which is putting a massive smile on my face every time I see it and drive it.

Can’t believe how many people have taken photos even as I drive by or stopped to look at it. I was at my friends house yesterday and a family walked past with 3 young children and they stopped to look at the car. I invited the children to sit in the car and get some photos taken.

Hopefully I made their day and the seeds are sown for future car owners
I've only had my Ferrari for a week and all public responses have been positive..Even cyclists have given me the thumbs up.My slightly understated Grigio Silverstone attracts attention so your Giallo striplo Strato must have waves of people following you..;)
It does attract attention and as you say you get waves and thumbs up from other drivers which is weird as my GT3 Touring was very unassuming!

A photo for those who haven’t seen it on PH biggrin

Not really weird as to the layman a 911 with no wing looks like a base car.
Hence why I thought people bought them to be under the radar.

Stunning in the Triple yellow and nice matching spec inside..Those Carbonia extended CF paddles are a huge improvement IMO..Are one of the photos showing the Carbonia front plate plinth as i need to order one to avoid another FPN..

The paddles not only look great but really do help when driving to change up and down without moving your hands.

Yes it’s Carbonio and the front plate holder is also excellent and a clever bit of design without damaging the bumper.

Yes the Touring is under the radar, but my mates 991 GT3 in Red doesn’t get thumbs up or waves from kids so maybe it’s a Ferrari thing??

And I am a long standing Porsche owner and will always have a Porsche In the garage so it’s not a F v P argument, just that they are on a different level of admiration that I had not expected simce I got it.

I see that it looks as though the lovely LG car at Chester has gone... Lucky chap, whoever it is.

Congratulations Rob - I see you guys have taken the plunge. How many miles did you knock up on the GT3?

Hi Giles 9,500 to answer your question. Totally loved that car. As the miles racked up the engine just got better and better. If anyone is looking for a Miami Blue Gen 2 GT3 that in my opinion is properly specced, fully PPf'd by Topaz therefore it is unmarked so I can highly recommend it. It is currently residing at OPC Chester. Ask for Andrew in sales he is a pleasant and efficient guy to deal with.

Strong rumours abound of a second batch to be produced May Or June though not confirmed. My thoughts are that by that time production of the 992 will be in full swing. Whilst I appreciate Porsche's ability to mix models up as they come down the production line surely producing a 991, a totally different model would present problems. I think we are agreed total production of the Gen 2 GT3RS is about 130 units so that would raise another question. Would the factory produce a 100 and odd cars for the UK which would require a Petrol Particulate Filter to be developed specifically for that engine. If so it would add 15 Kilos to the back end, stifle the performance by 20 or so BHP and of course reduce the glorious sound the engine makes. So unless the Weissach was specfied to offset the weight gain and the engine tweaked to regain the lost horse power the car would be slightly less of a vehicle than the current Gen 2RS

Porsche obviously have the ability to do as they wish and will do so. I will of course be proved totally wrong, time of course will confirm that.

Seeing references to Porsche RS and Ferrari in the same thread is somewhat unusual

So I am using this chance to mention that I am a lucky RS gen 2 owner but also have the other two here smile

They are all unique and awesome btw

Speculating as much as everyone else but I would have thought any next batch would be a bit bigger, maybe 200 cars to make a total of 300+ for the UK, like last time.

Not sure most of us would notice 15kg of weight and 20hp, but you can imagine the hyperbole that will develop around the first batch of cars and how much better they are if the GPF and weight turn out to be fact.

Not sure what the hold up is, to be honest. It's going to be almost a year since the first batch was announced, so it must be to do with the emissions thing and/or maybe the political situation here (can't bring myself to use the word). Also 160 thousand of our finest british pounds doesn't buy the amount or Euro that it used to and maybe that's a factor as well.

Until the dealers in the UK actually receive an allocation, it could go either way.....at least it's still on the UK configurator!
