If it does happen Porsche will have to develop a UK only spec model ie with a PPF which will sap power to the tune of of 20-30 bhp and rob the engine of some of the glorius sound. The addition of the filters will also add 15-20 Kgms to the rear of the car which will probably require some additional suspension tuning. I'm sure the factory are able to add the additional power that will be lost, though the engine would be up to about 138BHP per litre which is a heck of a lot for a road car. It all seems quite a lot to do for what would be a very limited run of cars. Please forgive my ramblings.
It means developing an RS engine with a GPF for the whole EU not just the UK.The one caveat is the UK will be the only RHD market where a GPF is required.
If in the unlikely event that a no deal Brexit transpires after March 29 then Porsche GB might take the decision not to bother with a second batch.
I fear that the restricting effect of the GPF on the already optimally tuned RS is proving rather more problematic than first envisaged.
Great point from another poster that Porsche aren't infallible in overcoming engineering solutions as recent events have proven.
I still believe that a small second batch will appear in the UK later in the year, albeit neutered which no longer appeals to me personally.
A first batch RS will remain a wise buy IMO so it looks like you made a smart move Rob.
I was personally told by AP at Goodwood that the filter issue had been solved for the GT3RS, NO LOSS IN POWER and there was definitely a 2nd batch for the UK....

That was a long time ago and things can change. If it was all sorted last July, why haven't we seen the second batch?

Let just face it, none of us really have a clue, we all listen to hearsay from OPC’s or people that ‘know’ someone.. I’m glad I got a first batch car as I’m terrible when it comes to waiting for something, Sod waiting all this time to see if a 2nd batch car transpired.

Anyway took the RS out in 2 degrees the other day on cup2’s.... WOW I need to change to some winter tyres

I found i just had tonnes of understeer from the RS, if i were using more in the winter i would 100% soften up the suspension

I was told today that there is to be a second batch; I chose not to ask when. Glad I got ours in the nick of time.[url]

Are you in a position to expand on that latest "news" as my dealer says he is not aware of any announcement.
I got the usual "we don't know of any allocations" comments.

With WP, not sure on mag wheels yet.
Dealers known this for ages.. but they chose to feed speculation instead, helps bolster the used GT market (which is slow)

Since I purchased mine 8 GT3RS Gen 2's have sold plus another in the last 24 hours. A Crayon one has since appeared taking the total for sale at OPC's back up to four. I wouldn't call that slow. Just my opinion of course.

Well I sure hope there's a 2nd run as I turned down a car in the first lot so I could spec WP and possibly carbon wheels in the 2nd

I'm pretty convinced now that there will indeed be a second batch arriving in the UK in the later part of the year.On whether or not i will get one of them i'm no so confident.
However i've just returned from taking a friend out for his first ever spin in a Ferrari. My new 458 Italia is a very very special car and i wouldn't swap it for an RS anyway..Its got a 570PS NA 9.2K revving 4.5L V8 and its glorious..!

I’ve heard from Porsche that the second batch of 991.2 GT3RS with WP is ‘definitely happening’. The only variable is when these cars will be delivered and whether you receive an allocation. I’ve heard one dealer suggest deliveries in sept-Nov this year. Just have to sit and wait this one out.

Hi Taffy, hope you're well. It sounds like, if you were forced to choose between your current GT3 and the 458, you'd keep the Fezza. It must be very good indeed then! You should bring it along to our next meet. Would love a passenger ride smile

One day I will scratch the Ferrari itch but can't see myself parting with my Porsches. Its a dilemma as I have neither the funds nor space to add another expensive toy!

Having followed Taffy into a Ferrari (488GTB with 3.9L V8 twin Turbo and 660bhp) I can honestly say I wouldn't choose my GT3 Touring over it ever.....

Different car, different price point and totally different driving experience

Agree they are another step up , and then you drive a 720S and that is a further step up . But still I am happy to be back in a Porsche , just like the feel and balance more , it is not all about big power .

But if you want to change gear yourself you choose the Touring!

I was under the impression that i'd followed you into a Ferrari.;) I still have my GT3 and i love it every bit as much as my 458 but i wouldn't give up my 458 for an RS..I'd have to have both as they press different buttons..
I'm getting a new 992S sometime late Spring either in Aventurine green or Gentian blue hopefully as a stop gap before an RS..One must do one's best to get what one wants in life..!
