I've got a few spec questions....

Has anybody seen any of the interior finishes yet? Is standard okay or is it worth going for Diamar Lightsilver?

Has anybody seen Gentian blue yet? Same question with Aventurine?

Got to finalise my spec this week, currently thinking - http://www.porsche-code.com/PLFERVY0

Thanks!

I've specced RAS on my 992 C4S PDK where it seems to belong but I've mixed feelings about it. I'm not sure it's desirable on a RWD GT3/RS or T, too much of a nanny that thinks it knows better than the driver and makes the car do something you weren't expecting. A few horror stories out there when its badly set up or all 4 wheels leave the ground...

What horror stories?? Now I’m worried eek

I’ve never had any problems with RAS on my T. I think it’s a great addition and will spec it on a 992. Definite increase in agility in tight turns, helpful for parking and no discernible “nannying” or interference

I had RAS on my 991.2GTS and it was truly transformative when driven in an enthusiastic manner..I haven't chosen it on my May build 992S as i suspect it won't be as much of a 'must have' as its on a 991.2
My reasoning is i think the 992 will be pretty much right straight out of the box..The trouble with the 991.2 was it was basically identical to the 991.1 but had 45KG of Turbo/ICs and plumbing behind the rear axle coupled with much more torque..This caused problems with the 991.2 in terms of understeer which needed RAS to counteract..
The 992 has 46mm wider front track, 11% higher steering gearing and the more forward placed engine mounts..Mr 911 himself August Achleitner said he personally wouldn't bother speccing RAS on a 992

For me, Sports Exhaust for bridges / tunnels and when pushing on, BOSE for cruises when I'm bored heading down to the alps and Chrono for the button on the steering wheel to flip modes when I get there. Dealer suggested the -10mm PASM for resale. Not sure if thats true, but a lower car always looks better in my simple eyes and it wasnt a lot in the scheme of things.

After that, I got the sports seats plus, privacy glass, satin plat wheels to make it mine, but definitely not must haves. Anything else to me would be a distraction on my C2S. Came in at sub £100k.... just.... in solid racing yellow. Much to the disgust of my OPC I also specced Sportex for seats. Because I like it and it looks a bit (but not much) like houndstooth.

Just keep it simple in my eyes, should be a hoot.

Idly toying with the configurator and I got to £100,398.00 in a basic spec. This would be how I'd go, though it would have to be manual. Thought it looked rather good - chickened out of the gold wheels though...

Why was the OPC not keen on sportex? I think it looks really smart and won’t stretch like leather.

“HI David, I would advise against the sportex interior. It’s your choice ultimately, but it’s not very comfy at all.”

Thats all I got! I think it looks great, especially with the half leather/crayon stitching. Sat in a 911T with sportex and I thought it was really comfy and also gave a bit more of a retro look/feel, as you say is less likely to sag too. Maybe the residual / resale concern, who knows.

Sport tex is not great in my opinion. Cheap and rough feeling. Not befitting a 100k car.

I get the rough feeling, but didnt feel cheap to me. I would swap for some nice alcantara seat centres, that would be top of my list, but not at any cost

Is obviously a personal choice.despite my car having alcantata I don't love that either. Full Leather would be my preference.heated of course!
I look forward to seeing the 992 at the south London launch on 20th.

I like the sport design front apron and side skirts but don’t like the rear bumper as it changes the plate location and doesn’t look right.
Alcantara rooflining is only £821 and gets rid of the cheap looking material.
Black leather with the crayon stitching and crayon belts seems to brighten up the interior enough but would be nice to have some more deviated stitching options.
Carbon roof could be a bit gimmicky and don’t really see the point in it if you can’t delete back seats and make a lightweight spec.

http://www.porsche-code.com/PL1L89K5

Factory ppf would've set the delivery back so ive gone with a deal with topaz through my dealer.

salesman told me to go for base white as opposed to carerra as its not that noticeable.

not long left now

Here's my build spec... i have a build date of 22nd March and shipping 5th April, a month today!!

http://www.porsche-code.com/PLUNPGC1

I reckon i'm the only person in the country that feels that carbon fibre is getting a bit old and common, so have gone for the new wood trim they've released with the 992.

Can't wait!!! counting down the days now... best wash my 991.2 to hand it in.

Love the wood trim. I selected it originally, but then removed it as I found other options pushed the price too high - http://www.porsche-code.com/PL189F34.

3rd week of April delivery for mine hopefully.
