After the other thread, how about all getting together for a friendly track day with our GT cars?

Open to suggestions on location and dates if those that would be interested put some suggestions down dovetail it into something that works.

Just a friendly get together to enjoy the cars with some friendly banter.

With noise levels being one of the biggest restrictions I’d suggest Silverstone or Anglesey. Summer date would be preferable.

I would rather do a same car PH driver timed event though, as we can all do track days and meet up any time and we all do that already.

but normal days at both events:

Anglesey – 18 May 2019 most Owners will be on this as is Static noise level: 105 dbA.

Silverstone – 17 June 2019

Both with PCGB so most people will be insured and nothing to organise, just turn up.

A lot of us meet up for Donny track evening as it stands, always a good group if some one posts they will be there.
costs are only £150, loads though out the summer and 3 hours is enough for most and the cars.

So no need to get anything extra planned imo.

I am still up for a timed event, I have done the odd how fast event at Bedford.

Sat 10 Aug 2019
Bedford Autodrome, West, How Fast, only £99 but bad noise limits.

Refer to the title. If you want to organise a timed event go ahead, start a new thread.

You've posted days that are full so we'll ignore them.

Silverstone 21 march and probably 11 April. Their own trackday.

Will also be at the circuit days nurburgring day in April (unfortunately it clashes with the goldtrack spa day frown )

Should be good for any summer Silverstone day as well.

The PCGB events 911R refers to are sold out. Personally having a GT only TD would be fun, don’t forget this year it’s the 20th Anniversary of the GT3 so seems appropriate to medriving

Good call Cuno.

I'll look through some options and post a list later on for both events and see what suits everyone.

That was my intention to make it a GT only TD with folks from here.

Here's the Silverstone dates :

Thursday 11 April* Open Pit Lane Grand Prix Circuit £419

Monday 20th May Open Pit Lane Grand Prix Circuit £469

Monday 3 June Open Pit Lane Grand Prix Circuit £469

Monday 22 July* Open Pit Lane Grand Prix Circuit £469

Thursday 8 August Open Pit Lane Grand Prix Circuit £469

"Anglesey " only £225 Sat 27 April 2019 is free ?

What about an Isle of Mann GT trip ? £240 for a return ferry ? be more fun and a hoon round the island.
Unlike the UK there is no national speed limit. :-)

not keen on £500 Silverstone days, it's a rip off and not a fun track.

If you want to organise an Isle of Mann trip start a new thread for it, it's clear by the title what the intention is for this one.

And rather than suggesting one circuit date option, at least try to show some flexibility for dates that might work for people other than yourself.

And for Anglesey:

27 April BookaTrack Car Trackday - DETAILS
28 April BookaTrack Car Trackday - DETAILS
6 May OpenTrack Car Trackday - DETAILS
18 May Porsche Club GB Car Trackday - DETAILS
23 May Javelin Trackdays Car Trackday - DETAILS
27 May Circuit Days Car Trackday - DETAILS
31 May Javelin Trackdays Car Trackday - DETAILS
3 June Track Obsession Car Trackday - DETAILS

10 July Javelin Trackdays Car Trackday - DETAILS
1 August OpenTrack Car Trackday - DETAILS

Timing isn’t for track days anyway. Unless you are a wannabe racer with no respect for others.

Agreed. Especially when some bloke in a modded red GT3 actually calls out others over timing.

My personal preference is Anglesea however i'm pretty flexible..I tried to book a day at Anglesea last October however they weren't very receptive to the idea..They basically said to go on one of the mainstream organised events due to PL insurance etc..
In their defence they probably concluded that the person they were speaking to couldn't organise a pissup in a brewery..biggrin

I have access to hiring out Curborough privately for a limited amount of people and we can do what we like including timing. It's not a circuit I would take my GT car on but I have a couple of track or race cars that could be hired in for a ball-swinging compeition.

Agree timing in retrospect on a public track day is an idiotic idea.

And the Caterham challenge is probably not feasible anyway seeing as BaT - who rented Caterhams at Donny - have been taken over by Ginetta.

Just to clarify, for my own (possibly others) insurance purposes, are we 'piggy-backing' onto an already organised track day, or renting a whole circuit?

I only ask, because my insurance has just one stipulation for 'free' UK track cover; that the event is organised by a recognised car club or track day organiser (i.e. registered with ATDO or suchlike).

I would suggest under the circumstances that we stick to an ATDO track day to ensure there won't be any issues for those that would want to insure.

Hope that's ok for us to work on that premise?

Thanks for the clarification. (Might be useful for others too)

In that case, other than if there's a diary clash, please count me in too. thumbup
