I’ll be there in a black LHD Touring
No sign of the CGT yet ? Is it possible to get through france with out stopping to the ring with my 70 ltr tank,i dont think so.
It's just over 200 miles from Calais to Aachen so no issue if you've got a full tank.

IIRC the current rules say you can still stop for fuel/food/piss in France or Belgium without any issue.
That's as I understand it, it depends what constitutes 'mixing with other people'.Also you have to isolate if you travel on the ferry but not on the Euro tunnel. My plan is to drive through with an al fresco slash if required.

If the French put us on their non exempt list will they require Brits in a car entering France via Eurotunnel to do 14 days quarantine in France even if we are intending just to pass through France without stopping to a country say Germany which has UK on its exempt list? My point being that the key issue is not what HMG think but what rules the French intend to apply to us possibly vexatiously as a tit for tat for us taking France off our exempt list.
Currently giving this some thought as we are booked outbound Shuttle on 9 September.

No issue with quarantine if you are simply passing through france. It's only if you are intending to stay in france that would apply.As you say, these are HMG rules.

Have the French said that will still be the case if as seems likely they decide UK is no longer on the French exempt list?
Earlier in the year when the travel corridors weren't in place yet (june) so the uk was on the france naughty list there was no issue passing through france to get to belgium so the same I would assume will apply again. Although to be fair i haven't explicitly checked that they haven't decided to be french and randomly change it now......isaldiri said:

You have to present the document below at French customs ;

Ahh, so the French form is back in play is it?. We had to fill it in for our trip on 10th July but not for the one in early August. French customs at the Tunnel didn’t ask for it on either occasion even though we were supposed to hand it in. He just asked where I was going and I said en Suisse and that was the end of it. My current problem is that UK have put Switzerland on the naughty step which is less than ideal and bearing in mind we are in the high mountains of the Bernese Oberland it seems just faintly ridiculous but heh ho.Pleased to see you've finally got the GT back

Anyone heading out on the 14th?. Im thinking of going over for a couple of days
Hi Gary.Sod that I'm staying in Blighty until someone makes up their minds and it's a bit more clear, as you would mix with others if you use the rest rooms or the service area, too many gray areas.
I'll do my little bit to help the British economy and do the NC 500 one of the things on my "Things to do list"
Guvs.

My company has got confirmation from the Department of Transport that y transiting through Belgium and France without stopping/leaving the car self-isolation won't be needed. Managed to do it with my family: stayed in a hotel in Aachen, left early morning and had my first "pit stop" in Folkstone
