RS Day at Oulton Park on 5th March - with a stock GT4 be ok for drive by noise? It says drive dB is 92, I think that’s quite low for a GT4?

Not seen people have any trouble with stock GT4 or GT3 cars in several years of doing this event, so rest easy!

Ok, I’ve been thrown off at Goodwood for noise in my stock GT4, I think that was a 98db day.

Yes, I had trouble there too a long while back, with a TVR. Goodwood is far, far stricter and different in the way the noise is monitored IME.

As I say, Oulton should be fine for all stock road cars.

I'm going to be spectating at Oulton (can't get a track ticket), so if any of you are going and don't mind the odd passenger riding shotgun please shout smile

I pre-ordered my ballast - my nephew's coming as pax - but if he can cadge a lift in another car, or gets sick (literally perhaps) of my driving, no problem.

Hah - thanks. Mike from Sport and Classic also offered me a ride, so hopefully it won't be a dull day.

Not been to a trackday since before we moved to Oz in 2010 so really looking forward to just catching the atmosphere. Since we had a family, I haven't had the time and until I got my TT I didn't have the car either!

Don't expect me to peddle my car as quickly as Mike. Most things are pretty dull after a pax in his 996 3.9 CS. hehe

Is you car the silver 996 turbo he sold last year? Very nice looking car that was.

Yes - that's the one! It looked like a new car, I've been over the moon with it!

I better bring a change of pants if he's that fast ....

Hopefully now have a ticket!

If I get it, I’m going to practice moving over to the right and indicating wink

Used to love my track days. I’ve gone old and soft though - going to look at track day insurance though I’m sure a Porsche day will be safe and well-mannered!

Our rs day is safe and well mannered, plenty of great cars and nice people.
The noise is 105 static, should be fine with a gt4.
Lets hope we get some reasonable weather, jet stream forecast to stay where it is for a further 2 weeks, possibly unsettled.

Muhaha, my podgy 4x4 will be lapping everyone if it rains wink

In all seriousness, I’ve had some of the best track days on a wet track but it’s not much good for meeting people and shooting the breeze in the paddock - it does mean you go home with some tyre left though!

Looking forward to seeing everyone and absorbing the atmosphere

On the tyre subject, is there normally a tyre supplier at these days? I’ve a 250 mile drive home afterwards and might need some after the day....!

On this point, I have to say the (four?) previous events I've done have all been extremely enjoyable and driving standards excellent.

No one drives like they're trying to prove anything. Faster cars are considerate and slower cars always aware of their mirrors.

I used to almost exclusively drive Bookatrack days, so I'm sure it's similar in spirit and attitude - everyone wants to have a good time and go home in one piece

Thanks for getting back on the tyres Mr Yellow - I'll make sure i've got enough left to get me home in that case!
