Final Batch of 3RSs and Speedsters - Do They Have the PF?
Discussion
Would PORSCHE really take orders and spec cars if they were not sure they could deliver them. I know it can happen but this has been on ice for nearly a year now and I just can’t see any miiliage for them if they have to back track and cancel the orders. The fall out and bad publicity just wouldn't be worth it!

Maybe it's the only option they have if they want to try and sell more cars in the EU. If true, I think it's a huge gamble but they feel approval is close is a calculated risk.
I'd love to see the reasoning behind the thought that a waiver is possible on a newly built car. I can't see it myself.

With VAG recent track record with manipulating emissions using cheating software, i can't imagine the EU law makers granting any concession whatsoever to them with regards to avoiding the new mandatory WLTP rules.I just can't see it myself.I'd love to see the reasoning behind the thought that a waiver is possible on a newly built car. I'd totally ignore the 520PS on Porsche's website or order form as that's basically just carried forward from last year.I'm pretty confident that the second batch RS has yet been approved under WLTP which it will have to sell in the EU...All IMHO of course.

Not sure about that, the dealer config has the new prices on plus the WP option which makes me think the 'latest' order form is the correct one-but who knows?Geoffrey 321 said:

Right now its anybody's guess..I've just configured your RS using Porsche's international configurater even including the WP..However no Mag wheel option on it which i suspect was the same as on your OPC's computer..It still states that there's an impeding update to economy/emissions which i suspect relates to after passing the WLTP test.Taffy66 said:

You have a Speedster coming in 4 months when nobody has seen the production version? Of course you do.
AndrewD,The need for sarcasm and implying I am lying is, frankly, pathetic.
UK Dealers have now been informed of how many cars they are getting, when configurations can commence and when first orders will be produced.
Thanks for being a jerk.

Does anybody else have a confirmed allocation, with a delivery timescale, for a car that nobody has yet seen in final form and where none of the people I know who would normally be getting one have yet been told?

I suspect DPs from different OPCs have different policies in approaching the lucky ones informing them of allocations..At my OPC the second batch RSs have still not been allocated or so i'm told.! Does anybody else have a confirmed allocation, with a delivery timescale, for a car that nobody has yet seen in final form and where none of the people I know who would normally be getting one have yet been told?
.Given the continued uncertainty regarding the GPF, there's always a chance, however small, that these cars might never materialise..I phoned my OPC lunchtime regarding another matter and they still haven't been told by PGB whether or not the RS needs a GPF, or even has passed the WLTP test..
Its all very confusing IMO and reminds me of the cancelled order for my new Cayenne Hybrid last year..Deposit paid, configured at the OPC and delivery promised January 2019 only for Porsche to cancel all Cayenne hybrid orders as it had failed the new WLTP tests..
Is it a case of Deja vu or am i reading too much into it.....only time will tell..!

I’ll guess your referring to a Dick Lovett owned OPC - I have first hand experience of being shafted by them around the time the GT4 launched, I would not recommend them... anyhow... for info Reading got 4 cars, all allocated already..Given the continued uncertainty regarding the GPF, there's always a chance, however small, that these cars might never materialise..I phoned my OPC lunchtime regarding another matter and they still haven't been told by PGB whether or not the RS needs a GPF, or even has passed the WLTP test..

I don’t use Reading myself, but I know of build dates.. earliest one I heard so far is July.
From what I heard you'll only be able to spec it at your dealer. In other words it won't go live on the Porsche website so waste of time trying to find it. No one knows re PF but I suspect it won't... possibly to do with NOT being an official 'model' on the UK Porsche website? Like 3RS... some people know they are getting one.

If they are building for July then surely parts must be on order already in order to hit the production line by July!Gassing Station | 911/Carrera GT | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
