£76k comm - painful.
The money the auction houses make is extraordinary. Can't quite wrap my head around how much buyers and seller lose out.

Harry Metcalfe has just published a vid on the CGT....my word. Fantastic....love Mr Metcalfe’s work !

https://youtu.be/dWbjvcDML7A

It’s Jaykay’s old car which was bid to £560k at the Bonham’s auction just before Xmas.

Cheers, very good watch.

As someone who's fortunate enough to have done 45k miles in one, I'd echo everything he said.

Yes, great video - Harry captures the joy of driving it very well indeed.

Interesting how he shares how close it was between the CGT and F1 in Evo's 2013 greatest analogue supercars test (the F1 won). I know the F1 is amazing, but as a pure driver's car, personally I think the CGT eclipses it.

I am fitting KW's suspension kit to mine in the spring (via Manthey Racing) - having tried it on a friend's car last year it makes the chassis even sharper...cannot wait!

Wow 2400 miles in 17 years!

And folks slag off contemporary Porsche GTs for low mileage lol.

Thanks for posting C, HM always worth watching.

Just had a look on mobile.de....lots of cars that have been properly used. I hate people saying they buy cars as investments but the only way i could ever convince myself to spend that much on one car is to think of it as such ! I just think compared to everything else they look sensibly priced. Really don’t understand the 918 being so much more money....they’ll be the other way round within 5 years I am sure.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen Harry Metcalfe as excited behind the wheel of a car as he is in that video.

Great video and thanks for posting the link..My favourite car of all time by a massive margin. If i convince myself to semi-retire in the next few years prompting me to sell off a couple of assets i know where the proceeds will go to..I just hope that the values don't shoot up in the meantime otherwise it'll be way out of my financial reach..

cheib, Taffy, if you can you must. And if you do make sure you drive the doors off it smile Life's too short, and I'm pretty sure when you are on your death bed you won't regret it! Short vid chasing a good mate in his 911R though the Austrian alps earlier this year

Wonderful memories!

Funny you mention the 911 R....I remember when they first came out and were at mental premiums (Over £500k) they were the same price as CGT’s briefly.

I remember seeing a Guards Red CGT on St James’s Sq a couple of years ago.....just looked so bloody good.

This one is rather nice...no idea what Fayene Yellow looks like in the metal I’ve never heard of it before. One of those cars that looks great in every colour. https://www.internationalcollectables.com/Cars/For...

Something to keep an eye on....just think the car market could come off a bit this year.

What's so brilliant about Harry's articles are the anecdotes. "When I asked Harm Lagaay.....", "....after driving the F1, the Zonda and the....", "so there we were, watching Walter drive the GT down the Champs-Élysées...". No one else on the internet comes close to his knowledge and background, plus he's a journo so can articulate himself so colourfully.

If analogue is best, and in many ways the CGT is neck and neck with the F1 as the best of the best, then Harry is basically saying that in his view the CGT is the best car ever made. Aye to that.

Stefan - is this the KW kit with the integrated suspension lift system as well?
I may be wrong - they do two kits.
One is just suspension, the other suspension plus lift.

Interested to hear about your experience.

Suspension plus integrated lift kit is the plan: currently in build with KW for fitment in March I hope.

When I drove the very kind friend's car, I'd say the primary difference was that when you enter a corner, the suspension settles faster than in the standard car, in which there is just a small delay, where you have to wait for it for a fraction of a second to "take a set". It's a subtle but worthwhile difference.

Fabulous, just fabulous.

It’s great so many are used for trips and tracks, I saw 993rsr giving it plenty at Donington this summer.

Aiming to crack 50k miles this year in mine.

Anyone thinking about one you will not be dissapointed one of the most engaging driving experiences there is.

After 13 years every journey is still utterly mesmerising.

Such a brilliant video - love that man and love the way he looks genuinely thrilled to be driving it. Agree with others comments - such experience adds real weight to his work.

Re the CGT - first car I’d buy if I could smile

Despite the £600-800k asking prices i still feel they are way undervalued when compared to some Ferraris of the same era..F50 is a very similar concept however three times the price..I can only see CGT prices going one way and that is up..!
Very underrated car in the current market place IMO...It looks great in all colours and personally not fussed either way..Favourite is Basalt Black however Speed Yellow looks great in a less subtle way..

Just watched the video. HM has surpassed even himself this time. His enthusiasm for the CGT as being one of his all time favourite cars is clear for all to see. What I don't get is why he doesn't already have one in his stable.

Also, I don't care how fast or how much power the new generation of electric hypercars have, they will never be as exciting as this.
