991.2 GT3 RS batch '2' GPF?

Won't the GPF have to be close to the cylinder head to get the higher temperatures required for regeneration?
On the 992 the GPFs are situated right by the new larger turbos to get the heat needed to clean the new filter..As the RS and Speedster has no turbos another solution had to be found ..Porsche make a big marketing deal of fitting ITBs on the Speedster(Maybe on the GPF RS..?) to improve throttle response..I think this is purely marketing speak as i believe the real reason to fit ITBs is to reduce emissions and particulates..The ITBs significantly reduce emissions at low revs when the GPFs are at their least effective..If much less particulates are produced due to the fitment of ITBs then the cleaning process for the GPFs isn't as crucial..My reasoning is that this allows the GPFs to be situated in the same place as the side mufflers used to be as shown in these photos..Less particulates caught in the GPF allows the GPFs to be situated in a different place IMO.

I was wondering if 3RS have already been delivered in other EU countries with GPF. Am I just being daft to ask? But it is an EU regulation and they wouldn’t just fit a GPF and all stuff for the remaining RS in the UK / one could assume a few GPF cars are in the market. The ITBs significantly reduce emissions at low revs when the GPFs are at their least effective..If much less particulates are produced due to the fitment of ITBs then the cleaning process for the GPFs isn't as crucial..My reasoning is that this allows the GPFs to be situated in the same place as the side mufflers used to be as shown in these photos..Less particulates caught in the GPF allows the GPFs to be situated in a different place IMO.
Sorry if this is a silly question...

AFAIK no RSs post WLTP with GPF have been delivered anywhere in the EU..Despite some posters claiming that the RS has been approved by the WLTP test, i still believe this is not the case as of today..Its imminent and until it happens everything is internet speculation IMHO..Sorry if this is a silly question...

A bit of an update..Just read Pete Stout's report from the official Speedster's launch..The GPFs and ITBs come as a pair and were developed in conjunction with each other..Apparently they create a synergy in terms of lowering emissions and restoring the power lost by the fitment of GPFs..The new GPF exhaust system weighs 10Kg less than the previous iteration as it completely eradicates the side mufflers. This is confirmed for the Speedster and assuming the same for the RS but time will tell..
The important bit is the official confirmation that the ITBs and GPFs were developed together as a pair and not separately..They basically need each other on the RS engine to function efficiently..
Another info is that the Speedster's engine is not the same as which will be fitted to the 992GT3 although this is PS's assumption which is nearly always 100% correct..

This ITB & GPF combo for less weight would be great news if 100% confirmed - keep us posted.. The important bit is the official confirmation that the ITBs and GPFs were developed together as a pair and not separately..They basically need each other on the RS engine to function efficiently..

Have a read of the 'Performance' section in the Speedster info..
Looks largely like a copy and paste from the RS with minimal changes... Even references the RS a couple of times..
Extremely robust and high-performing, the RS engine was originally based on that of the 911 GT3 Cup.

Could be just careless copy writing of course..

Spec freeze confirmed by OPC for end of July. What time realistically is it between freeze and build and delivery? My latest Macan S was frozen on the 7th April, Build complete 10th May and delivery 1st week, does this translate to an RS? and if so would i be correct in getting an early September delivery?
sorry for so many questions
TIA Peter.

I specced my 3RS a few weeks ago and have already been told delivery will be sometime in Autumn. Fine by me though, gives me longer to explain it to the boss.sorry for so many questions
TIA Peter.

Factory is normally closed during August so you might struggle. The one thing I have always been told is the earlier you get your spec in the less likely there are to be delays....changes to spec close to lockdown can quite often result in delays....I would think on the Spedster doing things like changing to/from Heritage s-ec would be one such!sorry for so many questions
TIA Peter.
Your OPC has a computer system which shows expected dates for start of build, factory exit, arrival at OPC etc. Your SE should be able to send you a screen shot of it.

The dealer showed me the screen with the build date. 9th July. Not sure about delivery but he estimated end of July.
I have been told two weeks ago my built would be moved forward to July from October but I am not too fussed as to when I have the car. I miss the GT3 RS and I am very excited to have one back. But waiting and speculating and anticipating are sometimes as exciting as owning and driving (maybe not!). In any case it is all so confusing and contradictory. And keeps me glued to this thread!Gitana991 said:
